East West Bank went all out handing out many cash awards and raffle prizes at their annual appreciation night for auto dealers on February 3, 2017 held at the newly opened Shangri-la Hotel at the Fort.
We were at table #8 right at the very front and center
I asked my daughter if she thinks the crystal lights were made in China. She answered “yes”.
The hotel brand Shangri-la comes with high expectations from me.

One of the bad effects of having experienced global cuisines is my standards have become more discerning.
There were buffet tables outside for the staff. Their food selection was better.

I love cheesecake. I always order cheesecake every time it’s on the menu. Shangri-la at the Fort’s cheesecake gets a passing average of 75 from me.

Last year’s and this year’s emcee is Bianca Valerio. She’s very good and I find her very charming.
We got several trophies.
Oyen’s dress is a gift from her mother. I fell in love with it the minute I saw it worn by the mannequin at a boutique in the US. The regular price was $289+ tax but I was happy they were having a weekend sale. I got a 40% off. It’s simple but elegant.
Her super cute flat blue shoes are by Marc Jacobs if I am not mistaken. She ordered them online. Parang uso yata yun merong parang pusa sa dulo.
With East West Bank’s top officers, Jackie and Joy. I have never seen Jackie on a dress down mode. Even on ordinary days, she always managed to look fabulous. My simple dress is by Max Studio. Sandals by Bally, ostrich bag by March Cross. As if I was paid to plug their brands.

After the awarding ceremonies, A female singer named Morissette Amon performed with Matteo Guidicelli. I don’t know a lot of new and young Philippine singers and celebrities.

Morissette has a soaring voice. I also like Matteo’s cool, understated performance.
My daughter wanted to leave right after the awarding ceremonies. I didn’t want to because I wanted to win the free trip to Monaco to watch Formula 1. I thought it was a raffle that presence is required. Hindi pala. It’s an incentive award if you do exceptionally good in bringing lots and lots of business to East West Bank.
We’ve all been to Monaco after Oyen graduated from high school. That was our family celebration. Ang tagal na nun. We joined the two week Trafalgar package tour around Europe.
A—-“I am heartbroken. We didn’t win the free trip to Monaco”.
O—-“Mam, I’ll just buy you a ticket to Monaco, let’s go!”
