Edmund won as the Low Gross champion earning him a claret jug and a plaque at the culmination of the Golf Week Tournament in St. Andrews on April 14, 2017.
He received his award at the gala night, which was attended by all the golf week participants and their registered non-golfer companions.
His win was unexpected. His wish was only to go back and play a whole round of golf on the Old Course St. Andrews Links. In 2013’s golf week tournament, Edmund couldn’t finish his game because of the heavy rainfall. He quit after the 9th hole which lost his chance of any win. This time,
he not only achieved that with the weather’s cooperation but he shot an even par which earned him this ego booster and bragging rights as the golf winner.

The participants were all very good golfers and to be able to come out as the guy who played the best game was a true blessing.
The official records stated that he shot an eagle on the first hole earning him a score of one under. He corrected it by indicating that he only shot a birdie on the first hole and not an eagle which makes his score a par.
