Britney Spears concert

1. We went to Goodwill in Brentwood and donated some clothes and towels.
Those were mostly unused and hardly used. Goodwill donation

There was a white Ford Transit unloading loads of items. Siguro the owners are moving to a different house.

2. We went back to the premium outlet because my husband returned a pair of shoes to Cole Haan. I didn’t ask why, he probably just changed his mind. Rarely happened that he returned something to a store.

3. My husband and I are sawa na of Chipotle. Unlike in the past that we eat there at least twice or thrice a week, this time, we only ate once at their branch in Livermore. And we weren’t as excited as before. Siguro masarap pa rin pero baka talagang nagsawa na kami. There’s also a Chipotle at the Las Vegas Premium Outlet.

4.
We went to the Las Vegas Premium Outlet again because my husband thought the cashier at the Calvin Klein store forgot to put a pack of briefs inside the shopping bag. According to the store, my husband didn’t buy briefs. There was nothing in the receipt that says briefs or underwear. They also reviewed the CCTV and the Calvin Klein guy placed everything in the shopping bag. They also proved that Edmund didn’t buy briefs. Hay sobrang makakalimutin na.

5. It was so hot at the premium outlet even if they have mists.
At past 8 pm ang init pa rin. I went inside Kate Spade firstly para sa libreng aircon and secondly, to buy a purse for a friend. When I saw this blue passport holder with a cute turtle, I couldn’t let it go. Ang tagal kong hawak-hawak. I no longer use passport holders kasi immigration officers hate it. Inaalis rin lang. But I bought this still, ang cute kasi even if I have no use for it.

6. My daughter watched Britney Spears concert in Manila and she was complaining that Britney didn’t sing live, it was lip sync. It was more of dancing than singing and she didn’t interact with the audience. In contrast with the Celine Dion concert, Dion talked and interacted a lot with the audience. And boy she really liked to talk. I enjoyed more listening to her talk and be herself, than watching those choreographed songs and dances.
Britney Spears do have shows in Las Vegas, I wonder if her songs are taped.
Maybe not. Americans won’t have any of that bull shit. Do we Filipinos deserve less?

7. Was there a similar situation a few years ago wherein the ad agency used by the Department of Tourism produced an ad obviously similar to another country’s promotional materials? Although it could happen that two or more people may have the same ideas, and no one has a monopoly of great creativity but ad agencies must be doubly prudent so as not to use similar materials or ideas. This could embarrass countries and governments. Ad agencies cannot run out of original creative concepts. If you do, call me.

8. For the past several weeks, all CNN talked about was Trump and Comey. America embarrassed itself by showing how vulnerable they were. Russia in coordination with Trump and his campaign strategists allegedly had manipulated the news about Hillary Clinton’s emails and therefore paved the way for Trump being voted by many Americans? How sad. If this were true, Americans can only blame themselves. The byline “crooked Hillary” was obviously effective. Crooked just because of the emails but Trump has his fair share of unfavorable deeds but to his credit, American voters dismissed them as petty. Americans and Filipinos, I included, hope for the best for this country, our second home. I hope Pres. Trump realizes that a US President is different from a corporate CEO. He should stop tweeting and golfing and start working seriously for the best interest of his country.

9. Times have radically changed in the past 10 years and life is rapidly evolving. There are a lot of negative forces that threaten world peace and individual liberty. I can only wish each and everyone of us PEACE and PROGRESS.

10. So-called Post Dated Checks do not exist in the US. Make sure every check you issued is covered with enough funds in your bank account or else your check will bounce and you will incur lots of bank charges.
For example, if you were given one year zero interest to pay for say medical expenses of $500 a month, do not give all 12 checks with dates Jan 1, Feb 1, Mar 1, April 1… and so on. The hospital will not wait for the dates on each check. They will deposit all 12 checks in one day, on the day you gave all the checks. This would mean you should have at least $6,000 on the day you gave them your 12 checks. They have a different practice than in the Philippines. In our country, people wait for the date on the check before they deposit it.

11. I don’t want to go out because it’s 100 degrees outside. As if that’s not searing enough, I am flying on Tuesday to another state with a boiling temperature of 117 degrees. My game plan is to schedule my appointments between 6 -9 am then go back to the hotel. Then go out again between 6 -9 pm. I hope that works.

12. Now that my husband is back in Manila, I can skip eating in Filipino restaurants and maybe lose three pounds. Yeah, very low goal, but that’s a more realistic goal. Basta huwag na lang kumain.

13. Ubos na baon hindi ko nalaman kung saan napunta. I even used my credit cards. #badfinancialmanagement.

14. It’s going to be my first time to take Spirit Airlines. Grabe pala lahat may extra pay. Carry on bag, choice of seat, check-in, etc. I don’t know how I can fit my laptop, shoes, cable, chargers, toiletries, clothes, tsinelas, etc. inside my handbag. Hindi naman ako nagtitipid bakit kaya dito ako napunta?

15. Stress relief. I was able to cancel my tickets on Spirit with full refund because it’s still within 24 hours. I was also promised that the $19 charge for cancellation package would also be refunded in full. I got a round trip ticket instead on Virgin. Different airport, with one free carry on bag and only $25 for any additional luggage compared to Spirit’s $40 add-on for carry on luggage.

16. I didn’t bring my white carry on luggage because after the two consecutive travels to Europe, I got so tired carrying heavy bags. I had a hard time lifting it into the overhead bins that’s why on this trip, I had no carry on bag. It also made a big difference that my husband was with me. He carried my two laptops, etc.

17. One good thing in traveling during the summer months is I don’t need to bring bulky sweaters and jackets so a small carry on bag would suffice. I am traveling alone on Tuesday and I needed a small bag to put my clothes good for two weeks, my laptop, tsinelas, etc. Should be small enough to fit in the overhead bin and light enough for me to carry it by myself. Wala na si sweetheart taga buhat.

18. I went to the mall a while ago and found a store selling colorful luggage. I It didn’t take me more than 2 minutes to decide to buy these matching maletas. It was love at first sight. Love the color, love the size, love the light-weight, love the price. Ternong-terno. They are so easy to spot.
Malayo pa kita ko na ito sa conveyor belt.
My husband always tells me it’s not advisable to spend so much money on maleta kasi inihahagis lang daw, Kahit anong mahal, puro gasgas daw isang byahe pa lang.

19. I want to watch Ricky Martin’s concert at the Monte Carlo Casino. I looked at the ticket prices and they range from $200-$300 for good seats. Not the best seats but pwede na rin. I hope he sings live. Hayan isa pa yan, sayang, ang pogi pero bakla. Kaya pag sobrang gwapo malakas ang hinala ko ka-tropa natin.

  1. I enjoyed reading your #19 post re Ricky Martin..Sometimes we are just so surprised that a certain singer pala is of the 3rd sex.. Sayang nga ang gagwapo nila at ang gagaling….to name a few Cliff Richard, Barry Manilow, George Michael of Wham, Freddie Mercury….kabaro pala natin..hehe..

    1. Apologies.
To put in context, when men see a gorgeous-looking girl and she turns out to be gay, men’s natural reaction would be sayang, ang ganda pa naman.
In the same manner, when women see a very handsome-looking man, and he turns out to be gay, women’s natural reaction would be sayang, ang gwapo pa naman.

The “sayang” pertains not to him/her being gay per se, or not sayang as a person, but sayang because he/she can no longer be a girlfriend / wife / boyfriend/husband of the opposite sex. That’s what the sayang part means.

I belong to the old generation. With much ignorance, I am not politically correct when it comes to the third sex. However, there was never any intention to demean their person. I am one who notice and admire their extreme creativity and multi-faceted talents which most women / men don’t possess.
