Our short arctic circle tour is an advanced birthday gift to me from my daughter although the trip also falls on her birthday. My son is not joining us because he is busy looking for a job and at the same time reviewing for an exam.
Oyen took the cue from our many conversations about Aurora Borealis.
She enjoys planning for trips and I think she can beat any tour operator when it comes to thorough planning.
Although she started planning for this trip as early as 10 months ago, it was only a couple of days ago that she furnished us with a printed guide and itinerary.
Reading through it made me a little relaxed because the pacing is not hectic. I will have plenty of time to rest (old people).
We fly PAL to UK to spend a night there. Next day we fly to Tromso. Our Northern Lights hunting starts the following night so I have some time to recover from the jet lag.
It also made me feel better when we found out that the London-based tour operator is providing us with extra winter clothes when we drive to the wilderness at night to wait for the aurora.
I am bringing lots of chips and instant noodles for emergency food because we will be staying in a remote hotel to have a better chance of seeing the Northern Lights. Baka walang sari-sari store dun.

Good luck seeing aurora.

Thank you.
