We took the bus again to cross the bridge coming back from the Arctic Cathedral. It took us a while before we figured out we were at the wrong bus stop kaya pala walang bus na dumadating.
I spotted a bus turn on the other street.
We walked to the other side of the church. It was only two very short blocks except that walking in negative 10 degrees and on slippery snow was much harder. Edmund slipped but did not fall. I was glad otherwise the two of us could both get hurt. We were holding hands while walking. His left hand and my right hand, when his right foot slid on the black snow, nahatak nya kamay ko. Imagine kung gaano sya kabigat kung nadulas na talaga sya. Buti na lang hindi kami tumalembwang.
View from the bus stop. Parang masarap na malungkot tumira dito. Pero ang view naman pang-kalendaryo.
We saw a Thai massage place after we got off the bus. Ahhh, sarap magpa foot massage lalo na maginaw. We Filipinos are spoiled when it comes to body treatments and massages. kasi mura lang sa atin ang masahe. But when we are in other countries, medyo mahal.
We walked straight to the Nerstranda Senter shopping mall to have a drink and some snacks. Tonight would be our first try to see the Northern Lights and we needed some food to make sure our hungry stomachs didn’t get in the way of this much anticipated adventure.
There’s a hip coffee shop on the top floor of the mall. The cashier looks like a younger Brad Pitt.
I could see the snow-covered mountains and the water from the panoramic windows. I imagined myself having coffee here for hours no end. It was a bit noisy though because the cafe was full of Norwegians. They are indeed privileged to have something like this in their midst.
Oyen was hungry because she only had little during breakfast. She had a cheese sandwich but she shared one fourth piece with me.
When we are in a cold country I always feel thirsty and once in a while I crave for coke. Yen was the one who ordered the cake but she let us taste it.
Much as I would like to eat cakes I try to control my sweet tooth because my body has sugar overload already. But even at freezing temperatures, I still eat vanilla ice cream.
I found myself staring at this rolled crepes. Looking lang no touching. Some people pronounce crepes as kreps. Some say kreyps. Some krips. Other say krip. Whatever it is, I say crepes are delicious especially with vanilla ice cream.
