The official FPG Insurance holiday ended last night. Majority in the group leave for Manila today, my sister and Bong for Madrid, Paul and Carla take the train to Porto then to Zurich, while Cynthia and daughter Iya go to Porto tomorrow.
Len and Bong are taking the same shuttle to the airport.
Sue waits for the rest of the group while Paul waits for his wife.
It’s time for them to say goodbye to Lisbon sightseeing.
Oyen, Edmund and I extended our stay by one day. We have free day today to just laze around, do some shopping, and of course do the unpleasant task of packing.
We took a taxi to Avenida Da Libardade where some designer boutiques are located. This avenue was constructed in 1879 and designed after the Champs Elysee Avenue in Paris. The Portuguese claim that their Avenida is more beautiful than its counterpart in Paris because of the trees and gardens surrounding the pedestrian walkways.
No other sidewalk has a pond like this.

I bought a few items because they were 30 – 50% off.
We’ve spent the first few days of our stay in the historical part of Lisbon where the buildings are old and plenty of graffiti. The buildingsand shops around Avenida Da Liberdade are more upscale and with less graffiti.
One of the things that set the European countries apart is their rich history. Lisboa is one prime example. Despite this building’s new architecture, the addition of this hand painted tiles accent wall shows how the Portuguese value their heritage.
We’ve been spoiled for a few days with fine dining, we now want simple food.
There’s a newly opened cafe Oyen wants to patronize.
Our family is like this. We feel for other business owners. We want their business to flourish. Good luck to this cafe.
