The hardest part of my being a mother is my failure to protect my son from opportunists and greedy friends and acquaintances of his. It makes me angry and it hurts so bad. I blame myself for not doing enough to ward-off this evilness who don’t know that they are evil.
Motherhood was a lot easier when my son was little. A kiss on his silky soft forehead and two chubby cheeks, blowing air on his cute little fingers, a loving hug, a rub on his tiny feet, were enough to save him from his day’s miseries. A bottle of milk, cold compress and a teaspoonful of Tempra syrup and my humming were all that mattered. In less than a minute, he would be sleeping like an angel and his slight fever would be gone.
I thought as a mother I was strong and powerful. I could carry him, calm him down when he’s crying and lull him to sleep with some out of tune nonsensical lullaby I composed extempore. “Nyke nyke where are you, doggie doggie is looking for you. Nyke nyke where are you, giraffe giraffe is looking for you. Nyke Nyke where are you mommy mommy is looking for you. Nyke nyke where are you, mommy mommy loves you loves you”.

Pls don’t be too hard on urself.. You have done ur part as a LOVING and NURTURING Mom, u sent them to the best schools, u have supported them in the best way u can, and u have raised them well.. ❤️
No matter how much we want to protect them from all harm, our children will always be exposed to all the evils of this world.. 🙁
You are one of the most LOVING and GENEROUS MOMS i have ever met, and i know u have a good and kind heart.. But as a Mom, u can only do so much, Ms Annie.. ❤️
OYEN and NYKE are smart, kind and intelligent kids, but there will always be stumbling blocks In life which will be a learning experience for them as they grow older and wiser.. 😉
What really matters is how well they rise above it all,.. and with ur INFINITE LOVE and SUPPORT in all their endeavors, i am sure they will come out of it UNSCATHED and SUCCESSFUL.. ❤️
