My daughter asked her parents until when we would be celebrating the New Year’s Eve at The Strip in Las Vegas. My answer was “I don’t know”. I forgot what Edmund said. Siguro hanggang masawa. I don’t know. Natutuwa lang kami kasi para maiba naman, medyo masaya kasi maraming tao, marami ring mga pulis kaya hindi naman nakaka nerbyos.
It was in 2016 when we first experienced the street celebration here. In 2017 only Edmund and I were here. My kids were in New York. This year, they stayed with us.
The fireworks display was very ordinary, nothing spectacular most especially to someone from the Philippines. Our fireworks displays were miles better than what we’ve seen here. But it’s not just about the fireworks, it’s the whole feeling of festivity. Basta nakiki-gulo lang kami dito. Nakiki-saya.
Sobrang lamig at almost zero degrees but this is the time that Edmund and I should go out of our comfort zones and experience different ways of celebrating New Year’s Eve. So here we are:
Crowd getting tipsy
Sobrag ginaw, kailangan nakatalukbong
Feeling safe with this two handsome Metro Police officers. Mga artistahin mga pulis dito, hindi malaki ang tyan nila. Maganda rin yung mga female officers nila at hindi rin malaki ang tyan.
Dati itong mga Vegas girls $1 tip happy na sila. Ngayon if you are not a veteran tourist, naku po, hihingan ka ng $10 or $20 or $50 for a few seconds posing. So when you come here, be smart. Yes they are gorgeous pero minsan ang sarap kurutin kasi yung iba nangdudugas din. They will tell you tip lang, but you must be ready with the tip beforehand. Don’t bring out your wallet. Basta dukutin mo sa bulsa mo yung pera, ready ka if you want to give $2 each or more. I gave $5 each total $10 which is actually big eh New Year naman. But what I did, I asked for another extra photo with me only, para lang masulit yung bayad. One time before the photo I told them I only have a dollar, they agreed din naman.
They look like dolls.
One of the things I like about Vegas is you can dress and look whatever you want. It’s okay. It’s fun. If I wear my wedding gown and dance at the corner of EDSA and Ortigas Avenue, the police will bring me to the mental hospital for psychiatric evaluation.
Happy New Year to our family and to yours. May 2019 bring all of us nothing but good health, peace of mind, prosperity, safety, contentment, family love.
God bless to all Oh my buhay readers.
