Last night, I left the office at 6 and went to Savemore.
Joyce gave me a list of things to buy so she could have the ingredients she needed. But when I looked at the paper, it contained more of a menu list, afritada, nilaga, adobo etc. Ako pala ang mag-iisip ng ingredients.
Anyway, I always feel gulat when Savemore employees clap their hands at the same time. Every 15 minutes or so, they have some kind of chant and they clap their hands. I am magugulatin so the novelty of hearing them clap and all irritate me instead.
I noticed something peculiar. Most of the items are from BONUS, the brand of the Sy’s. In a way they benefit the consumers because they are like generic products and naturally they are sold a lot cheaper. How can I refuse a 5 peso savings per bottle of patis or a P10 savings per 1 liter of mantika? But I wonder how the more established brands feel? Their world is getting smaller. With a giant like SM, there’s no more barrier to business. They can compete anytime, anywhere, and with anything. They can order their own Bonus car brand from China.
There was only a handful of customers and I was the only one with a cart.
When I was done, this girl immediately spotted me and waved at me to go to this lane.
While they were unloading the items, I took a photo of the lane number and I was petrified when I saw that it’s for SENIOR CITIZEN. Parang sumama ang loob ko. Why did she bring me to this lane. Do I look like a senior citizen? Obvious na ba?
Waaaa, I look old na.
Dati people call me, Miss miss dito ka. Ngayon, mam, mam! I am going to feel depressed if someone calls me MANANG, MANANG!
I decided to go to the ladies room before we hit the road. Could be stuck in rush hour traffic. And where is the creature wearing a skirt? I better make sure I enter the right place this time.
Stop and look first.
