Here comes supper - Oh My Buhay

May 5, 2019,    Tallinn

The sun was still up when we went to Von Krahli Aed for supper. Kain na naman. I didn’t want to order food anymore because I was still full. The service was slow because there were too many people eating at the restaurant. It was Sunday night, right? I have lost track of the dates.

Alex, the waiter,  informed us beforehand that the main course would take a little longer than usual to arrive. We were totally fine with that. It gave us some time to digest lunch.

Those that were already feeling hungry, bread was unlimited.

Almost an hour had passed before Alex brought in the main courses. We didn’t mind the wait because we were enjoying the friendly banter, the stories, the company.

When the food started to arrive one by one and every single time a plate landed on our table, all I could hear was wowwww! Gutom na yata kami o natural lang na matakaw.

It was already dark outside when we finished dinner.
Tallinn at night

It was a beautiful night. While I was standing at the center of the medieval square and gazing at the sky’s faint illumination, there was a sudden feeling of reverential respect and wonder.

Salve got to blow a candle because it was her birthday.

Our hotel was just a short leisurely walk from the restaurant. I did not feel cold although the temperature had dropped to 4 degrees. I was wearing two sandos, one short sleeved thermal, one cashmere sweater, the orange sweater, a quilted vest lent by Oyen, another outer jacket. Talaga naman hindi ako giginawin sa dami ng suot ko. Pito!

Leaving for Helsinki the next day (May 6, 2019). Our stay in Estonia was short but they gave me a very good impression. I only have praises for the Estonians. Their government manages the country well. No basura on the streets. Free education all the way to the university. Free health care, free medicines. They are number one in technology and certainly at the top of their game when it comes to fine cuisine. I only have superlatives to describe them.
