Lunch at Sheraton Commander Hotel

July 15, 2019

Our lunch break would be at the Sheraton Commander Hotel,  a ten minute leisurely walk from Austin Hall.  My classmates chose to walk, except for me.   Fort wo reasons, my feet hurt from wearing these new suede sandals,   and it was hot and glary.

Harvard shuttle busI felt relieved when there was a shuttle waiting outside the building.   Ay ako lang ang tamad maglakad.

Harvard shuttle, maroon seatsThis Marriot hotel honors the Cambridge common’s history.  It’s near the location where George Washington took command of the Continental Army in 1775, two weeks after he was appointed as commander in chief by the Continental Congress.

I was seated beside Hector Vaca, Procurement Manager of DAK Americas. Hector is a chemical engineer. His employer in Mexico bought Dupont USA and he was asked to handle the operations in the US. Beside him were Brett Spencer, Rob Smith, Eric Pucilowski, all Directors of LATICRETE International from Connecticut. Omg, I am missing one name.

I was starving because I didn’t have time to have some breakfast. I annihilated this plate. The rice, sparagus, and the steak were all delicious.

I ate some of the blueberries, scraped the bottom crust and took one bite of the cheesecake.

I didn’t see the shuttle van anymore after we had our lunch. I just walked back to Austin Hall with my classmates. I didn’t notice the heat and the long walk, although my feet were sore. I should’ve walked around the house first for several days wearing these black suede sandals to break them in. Lessons learned.
