Included in our room package is the daily buffet breakfast. This is so bad for someone wishing to lose an inch of waistline.
We met Juphel, a young Filipino waiter from Iloilo. He was a graduate of Cruise Ship Management and to get experience and training he and five others applied thru a travel agency in Manila and were immediately accepted at the Intercon. They’ve been working here in Bangkok for eight months. Their big advantage is English language fluency.
Their rice porridge reminded me of the time I was growing up in Binangonan, Rizal. When I was sick or anyone of us for that matter, my mom cooked lugaw na walang kalasa-lasa, basta bigas lang na pinakuluan sa tubig. Just boiled rice in water.
I dumped a lot of toppings including patis (fish sauce) to give it some taste.
