Karla Gutierrez invited me to watch “Passion” but I didn’t have a companion to watch it at the RCBC Plaza’s Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium in Makati so I asked my husband. He was willing but a bit skeptical.
Passion won 4 Tony Awards– Best Musical, Best Book of a Musical, Best Original Score, and Best Performance by a Leading Actress for Donna Murphy (as Fosca) when it opened on Broadway in 1994.
One of the main casts- Shiela Valderrama- Martinez was excellent in her portrayal as Fosca. I told her she was very creepy.
Fosca was obsessed with the young soldier Giorgio but he was in love with Clara, who was married to another guy.
Vien King played as the romantic but weak charactered- Giorgio, and portraying the sexy and alluring Clara was Jasmine Fitzgerald.
