December 1, 2019
I decided to just watch for a few minutes the annual Grand Marian Procession in Intramuros. I didn’t join in the procession. I didn’t have the energy. After spending two hours in Ongpin, I felt really exhausted. Actually I was already feeling low and slow even before I left our house. Pinilit ko lang talaga na lumabas ng bahay.
The annual religious procession is held every first Sunday of December on the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. More than 100 images of the Blessed Virgin Mary coming from different churches / parishes, nationwide and some from private families. The procession starts at the Plaza de Roma in front of Manila Cathedral. The image of Nuestra Senyora de Los Angeles from Pila-pila was joining and that was really the reason why I went. However, I didn’t look for them anymore.
I found a spot in front of Letran College and watched from there. There were gaps in between images so I had a few minutes to explore this historic site. Kind a creepy at night. Although I spotted three soldiers guarding the area, I was still afraid there could be drug addicts lurking in the dark.
I figured, with more than a hundred images, it could take up to three hours to finish the procession.
This must be the most elaborate and largest Marian Procession in the country.
I thought this was the delegation from Binangonan because Jaymar mentioned that they were wearing yellow.
I took several video clips but for some reason, they didn’t want to load.
I posted a few on my Instagram account, ohmybuhay.
