BANCO DE ORO YOU PISS ME OFF!!!!

On thursday, August 18, I received a note that Banco De Oro is inviting us to a cocktail reception with the candidates of Miss Philippines World. Since I can’t go, my husband can’t go, I said Julienne would be our representative, she’s the VP anyway.

We were told by BDO’s rep that the event is EXCLUSIVELY FOR MEN. They insisted to contact Mr. Yee instead. They don’t want to send the invitation anymore because my husband can’t go, ma out of place daw kung babae.

While we were eating at Mr. Choi, Edgar Borromeo, the BDO account manager was texting my husband regarding this BDO event. His text went “sayang sir, maraming maganda ‘don, this invitation is exclusively for you……”. I am so offended by this. Very disrespectful. And by the way, syempre lahat ng contestant dapat maganda, alangan naman ang pangit ng mukha eh sasali sa beauty pageant.

Why BDO, are you sponsoring this event so that Filipino men, including my husband, can meet and greet prospective kabit and mistresses? Is this your brand of public relations in treating valued clients? Is this misery loves company?
This could be a testament to Filipino men’s chauvinistic orientation to ______ every woman that comes along. I do not want my son to grow up having this kind of bastos mentality.

Is this a bright PR strategy to win customers over, to invite gorgeous ladies to meet men, not so young and mostly old alike, to wake up their dwindling libido, carress their misplaced egos and start buying Viagra in case they are placed in a situation where they would be expected to strut their sagging birdies around?

Is this customer service? VIP treatment? To expose my husband and all other husbands to temptation in disguise of pageant survey or judging? Is this a zero calorie or no fat version of pimping? My daughter can be a better judge. She’s a part-time ramp and commercial model. She is well educated, she did not come from nowhere. She knows fashion and class. Or old balding men are preferred, to giggle, gasp, heave, and exchange numbers with the female contestants, because that would be more fun?

I am also a client of BDO, have been for many years. But I AM FEMALE, have been for many years, since birth. This maybe a case of gender inequality and discrimination. I am the Vice President of the Women’s Business Council of the Philippines and together with my co-officers, Chit Juan, Atty. Lorna Kapunan, Mely Nicolas, Boots Garcia, Cora D. Ong, Myrna Yao, Maymay Liechtenstein, Ester Punongbayan, etc. we advocate women power.

You might say, wala naman ito, clean fun lang. Okay, sige, then I expect to receive an EXCLUSIVE INVITATION for women, to attend cocktails with the Mr. Philippines pageant finalists. Other suggested PR gimmicks are Barangay Chippendales, Mister Abracadabra Pageant, Mister Abs. I promise I can be a very good and competent judge for Mister Birdies or Guess What Bulge Is That contest. Should I find the measuring part tedious, I will phone a friend to help me out.

And Egay, kindly inform your bosses that I want front seat. Special request, can you give me a month’s notice so I can order eye glasses, I want to get a very clear view of their, you know what. And oh, I need to print new business cards, with only my code name Manang Boobsie and cel number. Not the one that I’ve had for 17 years. I will buy a new sim card so that Edmund would not know that the winner of the Mister Birdies is my BFF.
Oh I am so kilig to death.

  16. Men use women to boost their ego, a wrong way to feel successful. These men are either gay or insecure or losers.

  17. Banco De Oro promotes itself as the good guys, where in reality they have no social and family conscience. They just want profits.

  28. Relevant issues nowadays concerning men and mistresses. God bless you, women must stand up and object to this mentality.

  29. I know the personalities involved. This is embarrassing to BDO and may they learn from their mistakes.

  30. You are on the dot defending your position as a wife and a woman. Men are insensitive to women, they think they are heaven sent.

  31. Men look at women as symbols of their lust and misplaced ego, disrespect to their wives. It is only in the Philippines that men act like dogs in cages let loose. They are all dirty old men who use women to cover up for their lack of breeding.
