On thursday, August 18, I received a note that Banco De Oro is inviting us to a cocktail reception with the candidates of Miss Philippines World. Since I can’t go, my husband can’t go, I said Julienne would be our representative, she’s the VP anyway.
We were told by BDO’s rep that the event is EXCLUSIVELY FOR MEN. They insisted to contact Mr. Yee instead. They don’t want to send the invitation anymore because my husband can’t go, ma out of place daw kung babae.
While we were eating at Mr. Choi, Edgar Borromeo, the BDO account manager was texting my husband regarding this BDO event. His text went “sayang sir, maraming maganda ‘don, this invitation is exclusively for you……”. I am so offended by this. Very disrespectful. And by the way, syempre lahat ng contestant dapat maganda, alangan naman ang pangit ng mukha eh sasali sa beauty pageant.
Why BDO, are you sponsoring this event so that Filipino men, including my husband, can meet and greet prospective kabit and mistresses? Is this your brand of public relations in treating valued clients? Is this misery loves company?
This could be a testament to Filipino men’s chauvinistic orientation to ______ every woman that comes along. I do not want my son to grow up having this kind of bastos mentality.
Is this a bright PR strategy to win customers over, to invite gorgeous ladies to meet men, not so young and mostly old alike, to wake up their dwindling libido, carress their misplaced egos and start buying Viagra in case they are placed in a situation where they would be expected to strut their sagging birdies around?
Is this customer service? VIP treatment? To expose my husband and all other husbands to temptation in disguise of pageant survey or judging? Is this a zero calorie or no fat version of pimping? My daughter can be a better judge. She’s a part-time ramp and commercial model. She is well educated, she did not come from nowhere. She knows fashion and class. Or old balding men are preferred, to giggle, gasp, heave, and exchange numbers with the female contestants, because that would be more fun?
I am also a client of BDO, have been for many years. But I AM FEMALE, have been for many years, since birth. This maybe a case of gender inequality and discrimination. I am the Vice President of the Women’s Business Council of the Philippines and together with my co-officers, Chit Juan, Atty. Lorna Kapunan, Mely Nicolas, Boots Garcia, Cora D. Ong, Myrna Yao, Maymay Liechtenstein, Ester Punongbayan, etc. we advocate women power.
You might say, wala naman ito, clean fun lang. Okay, sige, then I expect to receive an EXCLUSIVE INVITATION for women, to attend cocktails with the Mr. Philippines pageant finalists. Other suggested PR gimmicks are Barangay Chippendales, Mister Abracadabra Pageant, Mister Abs. I promise I can be a very good and competent judge for Mister Birdies or Guess What Bulge Is That contest. Should I find the measuring part tedious, I will phone a friend to help me out.
And Egay, kindly inform your bosses that I want front seat. Special request, can you give me a month’s notice so I can order eye glasses, I want to get a very clear view of their, you know what. And oh, I need to print new business cards, with only my code name Manang Boobsie and cel number. Not the one that I’ve had for 17 years. I will buy a new sim card so that Edmund would not know that the winner of the Mister Birdies is my BFF.
Oh I am so kilig to death.
hmm nice ahaha i like this
way to go!!! ewan ko lang kung hindi siya napahiya sa sarili niya he he he iyon ay kung may hiya pa siya sa sarili niya
I found your blog accidentally. You are honest and very frank. I will definitely keep on reading your posts.
I really like your website, Peace, keep up the good work.
You are right Annie…kung ako din ma piss off..something fishy..not a good pr for a big bank like BDO….
Thank you Anne.
You have produced a really outstanding blog. Did anyone from BDO apologized for what they’ve done? Even if I am a man, what they did was wrong.
I found it funny, you are one of a kind. Keep it up.
Its not the case that reader must be completely agreed with author’s views about article. So this is what happened with me, anyways its a good effort, I appreciate it. Thanks
Oh you go girl for calling them out. BDO is not my friend, for a list of reasons. One of those reasons I found sexist and insulting. They added my husband to my personal accounts without my permission….I’ve sinced moved all accounts to BPI.
Thank you
Very good Annie! It is not good for a reputed company to be in this kind of “exclusive ” solicitation. You make me laugh too with this blog hehehey! Go go go and more power to you!
Most people will not have the balls to express their hatred. I like you. And by the way, go to RCBC instead.
ha ha ha, you are such a brave and frank person. You’re very spontaneous, speaking from your heart. I haven’t met anyone like you. You are real.
I can say that you are a very smart woman. Men should not mess up with you.
My husband and i were quite excited over the precious recommendations from your blog. the straightforward words, it’s overwhelming, content is fun, which is certainly exceptionally pressing.
Men are chauvinist pigs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bad BDO Bad %@&
I suggest that you transfer to Security Bank. They have good back-up system.
Dapat talaga careful sila, hindi maganda ang kanilang purpose. Buti na lang sa BPI ang banko namin.
Stupid BDO, I bank with Security Bank, better service, also Allied Bank is good.
I concur with you on this. That’s badtaste. Go to RCBC instead!
There are many banks in the country thatcan provide better service. No need to stick with BDO.
Bdo sucks!
Hi! This is my first visit to your blog. I agree with your post. I do nt want my bank to invite my husband to introduce to women. Very bad practice of BDO.
Banks earn money from customers. This is not how to treat VIP customers. Go to %&%&& BDO!
BDO go &*@# to &%$@#
After I read your disgust over Banco de Oro, I reduced our business transactions with them. We’ve opened an account with Metro bank. I was disappointd with their lack of good ethics.
This page appears to get a good ammount of visitors. How do you advertise it? It offers a nice individual twist on things. I guess having something authentic or substantial to talk about is the most important thing.
Men use women to boost their ego, a wrong way to feel successful. These men are either gay or insecure or losers.
Go to another bank instead. What a jerk.
Banco De Oro promotes itself as the good guys, where in reality they have no social and family conscience. They just want profits.
Those officers should be suspended! Lacks good manners.
fabulous blog, very well written. I like it a lot. I come acoss this article by baidu search engine.
This is hilarious. I have never encountered a blog like this. You are very natural, walang kaplastican!

Your weblog is critical; the issue is some thing that not adequate individuals are talking intelligently about. Im really content that I stumbled across this in my search for something relating to this problem.
I need to say, youve got 1 with the ideal blogs Ive observed in a lengthy time. What I wouldnt give to be capable of build a blog thats as fascinating as this. I guess Ill just have to keep reading yours .
I’m stunned why this treatment by a big bank.

I’m stunned.
Hindi nga maganda ang ginawa nila. I also disagree. keep up the blogging and I will be back again.
Relevant issues nowadays concerning men and mistresses. God bless you, women must stand up and object to this mentality.
It’s a very good post.
Good point and perspective. I would be mad too.
I know the personalities involved. This is embarrassing to BDO and may they learn from their mistakes.
You are on the dot defending your position as a wife and a woman. Men are insensitive to women, they think they are heaven sent.
Thanks for the post. Crazy bank.
Men look at women as symbols of their lust and misplaced ego, disrespect to their wives. It is only in the Philippines that men act like dogs in cages let loose. They are all dirty old men who use women to cover up for their lack of breeding.
