A quick visit to the farm - Oh My Buhay

A quick visit to the farm

I feel so lazy posting. My eyes are labo na and I have difficulty looking at the small fonts. I have become so forgetful. I immediately forget what I did the previous day.

I get my high visiting our small farm even for two hours.
As much as I would like to visit on a regular basis it’s difficult to do because I am also busy in Manila, and the ride to and from Tagaytay could be tiring especially when there are too many cars and trucks on the road.

When we bought this property there were very few trees. We planted dozens of pine trees and all sorts of trees. Niloko pa nga ako nung binilhan ko ng mga puno at halaman. Meron silang tindahan ng mga halaman along Aguinaldo Highway just a dozen steps from the Tagaytay Rotunda. Kinuntrata ko rin sila na magtanim. Ang dami kong order na iba’t ibang klaseng puno pero wala naman. Hindi ko naman nabilang kasi I was always in Manila. Hayaan na nga natin yang mga taong manloloko, always taking advantage of unsuspecting people like me. They may have ran away with thousands and thousands of pesos but until now hndi pa naman sila yumaman sa pangloloko.

Our small place is now green everywhere and some of the trees are overgrown. I may have to cut down a few of them, thosenthatvare too close to the cottage house.

The trees have a calming effect on me. When the strong wind blows, I like the sound of the swaying leaves rubbing on each other.

This place is not really a farm, farm. It’s just a small tract of land with some vegetation.
Ten years ago there were many real estate agents offering me 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, and 400 hectares in Batangas, and in Cavite. The prices were a fraction of the prices in Tagaytay, merong pang P50 per square meter. But I wanted to be in Tagaytay so here it is. Never mind if it’s small, it’s easier to manage. I have one horse, 3 cows, 3 ducks, 4 dogs, and a few chickens. Okay na muna yan. When Theo gets 2 years old, I will buy him a miniature pony.

We harvest a few fruits, coconut, two dozens of kalamansi, that’s it, the quantities are just for our consumption. Paminsan-minsan lang. Actually mas mura pa bumili sa palengke. But it’s so fun when we are able to bring home some harvests.
