I dreamed of Antonio “Tonyboy” Cojuangco and Gretchen Baretto last night. They have a beautiful Mediterranean-style house in Subic (daw) overlooking the bay. It looked very much like the biggest guest house at the Hearst estate in California.
Tonyboy invited us over to their place for lunch. Then he brought out his stunning red top-down Ferrari.
He and Gretchen, who was wearing a matching red sleeveless dress with a printed scarf, rode in the Ferrari, while a glistening metallic royal blue top-down Maserati was for us. I rode in the Maserati with Edmund, Julienne, Oscar De Venecia. Tony Tan Caktiong sat at the front passsenger seat. It wasn’t clear who the driver was, but he was wearing a white cotton t-shirt. I didn’t see his face as I was seated at the back.
It’s not true that our dreams are in sepia or black and white. I am able to identify and remember the colors that appeared in my dreams.
We took the sports cars to a spin in SCTEX. The wind was so strong, blowing my hair and the sleeves of my blouse.
Then Tonyboy Cojuangco and Gretchen Baretto pulled over in front of their house. Gretchen got off the red Ferrari, walked over to us then smiled. At this point, I woke-up.
I know what triggered this dream. Obviously the house’s image came from the one I saw at the Hearst Castle. There was a stunning red Mazda 3 currently on display at the Mazda Makati showroom and I told my daughter that I found it very charming. I even took a photo of it.
Gretchen currently stars in the telenovela “The Princess and I” and everytime I watched the evening news, they always showed the trailers. I also watched Bandila the other night and they showed Tonyboy Cojuangco and Gretchen Baretto seated together watching a play or concert at the Cultural Center of the Philippines. They even interviewed both. Maybe all these were retained in my memory and my active brain conjured up a story that manifested in my dream.
If I were to interpret my dream differently, maybe it’s a glimpse of things to come. Maybe I am going to have a Ferrari soon. No way, kahit tumama ako sa lotto, I will probably not spend P20 million on a car. Where would I park it? In our bedroom?
“I was not looking for my dreams to interpret my life,
but rather for my life to interpret my dreams.”
