The smaller van that picked us up from the hotel was a downer. I found the seats too tight but nevertheless I was still excited to go because today we were going to the holy place of Fatima.
We drove 100 kilometers and our first stop was the charming little town of Obidos Municpality.
Porta de Vila
Beautiful 18th century blue and white glazed tiles called Azulea adorn what used to be a chapel.
(Miss Wa, please get out of the way, there’s a van coming your way. Tooot tooot!)
Here comes another car, yet my husband was still in the mood to take my picture.
I have dozens of photos kasi the town is so pretty (not me) kaya my husband was inspired to take lots of photos.
There are plenty of shops along Rua Direita selling a variety of souvenir items.
I saw Oyen looking at postcards to send to Nyke.
Most of our tour mates sampled the Ginja de Obidos, a cherry liquor served in small molded chocolate cups which can be eaten after drinking the liquor. I didn’t try it.
Every spot is charming that’s why we just keep taking photos.
I thought the idea of decorating a window with flowers was romantic and cool. I told my husband I would do this on our window. He said this is charming only because it blends with the total look of the quaint street. But if I replicate this in Manila, hindi daw bagay, baduy daw.
It must be cool to stay here for a few days.
Instead of walking up all the way to the top of the street where a church sits, we checked out the souvenir shops.
Among the souvenir items, the hand painted ceramic tiles were my favorites but the thought that I would be carrying them prevented me from buying.
My husband was getting inip na kasi I was spending too much time inside souvenir shops.
to be continued
How pretty!! Hope to meet you someday 🙂 I always always read your blog.
