The wedding celebration of Abel Jose and Cara Sanvicente took one solid year preparation. The parents of the groom constructed 4 buildings to provide additional 32+ hotel rooms for the wedding guests, sponsors, family members, to augment the 40+ room available in the main hotel building of Green Canyon Leisure Farms in Clark.
The couple both went to college abroad, so their guests included some of Cara’s classmates in San Francisco and Abel’s friends from Boston.
The wedding was grand in all aspects but the families limited the number of guests to close friends and family only. Based on the number of tables and chairs, the guests numbered no more than 250 px.
Renowned restaurateur/chef par excellence, Margarita Fores, came over to the venue many times and no less than ten food tastings were done leading to this night. Food must be great.
Most women were in long gowns.
I didn’t want to wear a gown because it was a garden wedding. This lace dress was made by Amir Sali. It was huge on me so I had it altered but it still felt big. I saw the design of this dress at his fashion show in Discovery Primea in November 2018. I wanted the exact color mocha and birdseye dress worn by the fashion model but Amir made mine in pink using lace fabric.
I placed a pink cardigan over the sleeveless dress because I was thinking it could get cold because the party was outdoors. Hindi naman pala, it was warm that evening and the reception was inside an air-conditioned tent.
Our photographer, Mr. Edmund Yee, said “pangit, hindi maganda ang effect gawa sa lighting.” Eh pangit nga, para kaming nasa horror movie. Okay lang din kasi ten years from now when I look at this photo, I am sure my reaction would be “Ay, ganda ko pala nung araw.” Ngayon I hated my photos but ten years from now when there’s no more space on my face for more wrinkles, then I would find all my past photos beautiful.
The tent was beatifully decorated. I loved the giant inverted baskets made of bamboo.
We were assigned to Table # 6 but the guys moved farther away from the loud speakers.

Wedding cakes these days are no longer the traditional ones full of multi-colored flowers made of hardened sugar.
