After every party, syempre the thing to do is to make ligpit. We kept the 20 chair cushions, 20 chair covers, and the table covers in a balikbayan box and labeled them para easier to identify next time. Hard to locate dahil our house is full of kalat na talaga. We need an extra room for storage but we have no more extra space.
One thing to do is also to inspect the house for any glass left somewhere or chocolates on the floor or crawling langgam. Wala naman.
It would be good to inventory also the spoon and fork and other cutlery used, including plates, cups, saucers. Kasi madalas naiitapon ng mga waiters sa basurahan.
Nung araw sa Binangonan, my mom would always get upset after the town fiesta kasi she would lose a lot of kutsara and tinidor. Many times, they ended up in the garbage. Naiitapon sa basurahan. But one time she went to a gathering. She saw her kutsarita and kutsara. Nadun sa leche plan na nasa mesa. She knew they were hers kasi her name was engraved. “Fely” short for Felicing.
Sometimes I am thinking of having my cutlery engraved but my mother’s experience did not prove effective. She still lost a lot of her valuables.
I don’t have a complete set good for 20 pax of the same design. Dapat meron kasi I bought a set good for twenty people two years ago, pero kulang-kulang na.
The most that I have is good for 12. Kaya our cutlery at the party was mix and match lang.
Our household help dumped the spoon and fork in one bundle the next day after our Chinese New Year party at home. I don’t like that. They get scratched most especially the silver ones. Dapat ganito: Layo-layo.
I finished the last of the kaimito. I’ve seen only one guest took a kaimito fruit. I think it was Zaldy.
We still have a few more slices of Loel’s layered crepes. Masarap pero bad for my waistline.
I inspected our powder room. Only one towel had been used. Tila hindi naghugas ng mga kamay itong mga bisita namin. They ate crabs pa naman with their hands. Ah maybe they washed in the kitchen.
Facial tissues were also hardly touched. Hmm. Hindi nag wash?
Ang konti lang ng nabawas sa toilet paper. Hmm. Hindi nag wipe?
