The mere thought that I would be going out, riding in a car, sitting in the traffic, spending a good hour for a 6 kilometer distance, makes my blood boil already. Honestly, The bad traffic situation in the metropolis is taking a toll on my health and mental state. Napi-freak-out talaga ako. Nanghihinayang ako sa oras ko. Ang babaing napraning while sitting in the trafficking.
What could have been a 10-15 ride becomes a standard 45 minutes. What should have been a 20 minute trip becomes an hour and 30 minutes at least. Such a waste of time, effort, money.
And imagine the millions of particulates that enter our lungs from the diesel fumes, unnecessary idling of vehicles.
I really want to get out of the Metro Manila grid, but our offices are within the grid kaya it doesn’t make sense living outside. My travel time would even be worse.
How I wish we live in a city with cleaner air, wider roads, disciplined drivers. Where we don’t need to employ drivers because traveling would be smooth, easy and fun. Where parking is abundant. No need to stress-out on drivers who turn left when I say turn right.
I closed the windows in my bathroom because there’s a house construction beside us. Medyo maingay at baka kako maalikabok. Even when the windows are closed, I could see tiny black particles gather on the window sill. Pollution yan. Ibig sabihin iyan ang nai-inhale namin.
Siguro if my kids were still small, baka lumipat na kami ng lugar. That’s not a fun vacation. The cold breeze would be contaminated and polluted.
I just received a call from Joyce, an OMB loyalist. She’s in Baguio daw for a night and she wanted to buy some pasalubong for me. Ang sweet naman ni Joyce. Ube happy na ako. Nyke loves ube too. Thank you Joyce. Next time bring me along. I want to inhale natural pine-scented cold breeze.
Happy to get you something from Baguio 🙂
