I booked thru Expedia. It was the operator who recommended the Alexis Park Hotel All Suites Resort for my stay. Although it is not on the Strip, it’s okay because we’re not here to gamble nor to shop. My only reservation when I made the booking was that the hotel could be old or ugly.

Most of the hotels were fully booked on the dates that I wanted so I just went with the operator’s recommendation.

So here we are at the Alexis. It’s old, as in OLD. There is no slot machine in the lobby nor anywhere in the hotel, which is good. Tahimik, no smokers, no prostis.
Check in time is at 4 pm, oops no room yet. They are going to clean the rooms.

To our disappointments, there are no open restaurants in the hotel. We inquired from the reception and she said there are a lot of eateries just behind the hotel. We left our carry-on bags and walked outside to look for food.

Where are the eateries? Just behind…. walang the behind.
The next building complex is Rumour Boutique Hotel.

We walked a hundred more steps and before the stoplight are several restaurants.
Walking distance from Alexis but certainly not “just behind us”.

We didn’t want to venture out too far because our first appointment was at 2 pm and we would be picked up at the hotel.

We looked at the photos of food on the window, sige dito na lang para mabilis because it was already 1 pm.

Roberto’s is popular with the Latinos. Daming bumibili.
The one taking the orders was an older Latina lady. She couldn’t understand me. I said I wanted funnel cake. Hayy nakakapagod. Was it my English? My bad pronunciation? Or her English? Or her bad pronunciation? She called a younger male to take my order. O eh bakit isang sabi ko ng “funnel cake”, he understood right away. This concludes that my pronunciation was not bad after all.
There was a very tall black guy who looked like a basketball player who was driving a brand new Range Rover who also had difficulty speaking to this older lady. They also could not understand each other. O, the black guy has an American English o eh bakit hindi rin sila magkaintindihan. I saw him turn his head to the right and raised his eyebrows. Parang naiinis.

Burger ba o tacos? Tacos.

Taco salad

We finished the taco salad. I wanted nachos parang pica-pica lang while waiting for 2 pm.
Len ordered this instead. Too heavy.

Hindi naman sa nakikialam ako sa diet program nya pero pag ganito ka na kataba, dapat you don’t eat three burritos. Control. Dapat 2 lang kung bitin ang isa.
double order of burrito

I went to the toilet to wash my hands because I ate the nachos with bare hands.

I thought I saw a guy enter the women’s toilet. I waited outside for my turn.

Anak ng taco at nacho, sabi ko na nga ba parang lalaki yung natanaw kong pumasok sa women’s toilet. Ano kayang ginawa nya dito eh bakante naman yung men’s. Siguro guy ito gustong maging girl.
man in women's toilet

What did you do there ha?

Ayoko ngang hawakan itong flash lever.
flush using your foot

At lalo namang ayokong hawakan itong door knob. Mahirap na. Alam ko namang itong mga lalaki eh mahilig humawak sa bird nila tapos hindi naman mahilig maghugas ng mga kamay. Naku po.
don't touch that door
