All About Food - Oh My Buhay

1. Viewsite

Edmund and I had lunch in Tagaytay on June 12. We avoided going to the cluster of restaurants kasi super traffic. We just dined at Viewsite, a super simple restaurant along Aguinaldo Highway. They have ihaw-ihaw (grill) at the front of their restaurant.

I felt lazy to do a la carte. When I saw a picture of this set menu, eto na lang complete na. They gave us a bowl of bulalo soup.

E——“Walang laman?”

2. Sonya’s Garden

I treated Edna to a lunch in Tagaytay. Ever since she had a cancer scare, she now eats healthy foods like fresh salad.

Na-enjoy naman nya kasi nga puro salad, no meat.
Ako naman hindi nag enjoy, ang init. It was so hot.

Edna Dator, Sonya's Garden

Edna was my classmate in college. She’s been working with us for maybe 10 years now. She has four children and all of them are college graduates. Her daughter married into a good family. They now own a business and a mini hospital building in Laguna. Her other daughter is an elementary teacher in Singapore. Her two sons are also gainfully employed. Every weekend, from Friday night to Sunday night, all her children. with their respective families, stay with Edna at their home.
Siksikan sila but they don’t mind. They’re all happy to stick together. I told her, whatever problems/ kunsumisyon she experienced in her marriage, ngayon naman bumawi. All of her children are mababait, responsible, loving and caring for each other, and they’re all successful.

5. Mongkok

The first Mongkok was in C5 at the back of St. Ignatius Village. For a while, it became my children’s favorite restaurant. That must be 18 years ago.

We’re going to watch a movie in Shang. So as not to cram, we chose a resto on the same floor. Nyke warned as that the food is not so good anymore.

Maybe our standards became higher.

6. Mushroom Burger, Tagaytay

I would not come here if not for Nyke’s bilin,  to buy him mushroom burger.   Para kasi I find this place noisy and chaotic.  I could hear the kitchen staff talking to each other .   Yung cashier keeps sneezing and touching her nose,  tapos hahawak sa order ko?

My number was 76. After 73, they called 82. I complained bakit lumundag.
Tapos my orders pala were somewhere there already but they were not bringing it to the counter.
Kasi daw kulang pa ng gulaman at sago. Iniintay pa. It was only after I complained that a woman brought the cup. I saw them chatting only.

My son was not in the mood to eat the mushroom burger.  I ate the patty not the bread.

7. Izakaya

This Japanese restaurant in Pasong Tamo Avenue must be earning millions a month. They are always overflowing with customers.   Kung mamalasin ka,  the wait could be 40 minutes long.

Meals come with a small serving of the freshest cabbage salad and spicy tuna.

The free dessert is a choice between half banana or iced coffee. They ran out of banana so Edmund ordered the iced coffee. It was his very first time to drink iced coffee.
