March 7, 2014 Batanes
We were excited to see where our tour guide would take us for lunch. The good thing about this trip is that we are not expecting anything fancy. We just want food for the tummy. Anything beyond that is gravy.
We went to what looks like a newly constructed house, the Amboy’s Hometel.
This bed and breakfast has a tie-up with the tour operators. While we were there, many people also came to have lunch.
Hindi uso ang menu dito, just sit-down and they take care of the rest. Tiga kain lang tayo. Which is good in a way. Wala ng iba-ibang pagpili ng pagkain. Basta kain na lang.
We were ahead by a few minutes, maya-maya eto na ang isang barangay na turista rin.
turmeric rice (luyang dilaw)
seaweed soup. We overheard one girl from the other table “parang lumot”.
Yung soup iyun yung pinaglagaan ng isda kaya ang lasa ay super isda.
The dessert is fresh home-made chilled ube.
A———- “Miss, ano yung dilaw?”
Waitress— “butter sows”.
A———- “Sows, sowsmaryosep”.
We enjoyed our meal. I particularly liked the ube with sows.
