After the unlimited sushi, I went along with Bay Area couple Ted and Yen, my new friends. They’ve never been to the Rio Casino and Hotel so I suggested, just go. Step in the lobby, then leave. Don’t forever wonder what’s in that place. It’s huge, the rooms are old. Remember? I was there in November 2016 for about 10 days.
The advantage of taking Uber is when it arrives, the aircon is already cold because the Uber keeps running, they don’t park and turn off the AC. The disadvantage of having your own car is you park. When you come back, you walk under the heat to reach your car, then you have no choice but to endure the makalutong bibingka sa init.
Ted and Yen’s Mercedes Benz has leather seats and waaahhh, maluluto ang bibingka ko. Ang init. Since Vegas is a small city, before we reached Rio, mainit pa rin ang pwet ko.
It’s a good thing that this couple don’t gamble. Yen doesn’t even play the slot machines even for $5. She likes to go to the hotels to drink wine and her favorite drink, margarita.
We looked for a comfortable and quiet spot inside Rio. We just sat there talking about life while Yen was drinking margarita. Ted brought two cups, he thought kasi I drink too. I asked for water with ice. So while Yen was talking about her inlaws, her sons, her investments, etc. I drowned myself in ice cold water. Parang napaso kasi ako sa init sa labas.
Since we’ve just known each other only for 24 hours, there are still a million things to talk about. She likes jewelries and is wearing her 3.5 ct. diamond ring bought in celebration of their wedding anniversary. It is big.
I appreciate the fact that despite me being a complete stranger, she is comfortable sharing a lot of information with me. Mukha siguro akong mabait. Mukha lang.
Yen has a masters degree in business from UC Berkeley and since they live in the Silicon Valley area, she said there are many untapped opportunities. She plans to go back to school to study computer programming in preparation for the new business her son wants to go into. She said she’s willing to fund the project and she’s bullish about the prospects and is looking at hitting the billion dollar mark in terms of potential business growth. I told her “wow that’s good”. She has this go go go attitude when it comes to business opportunities. Well, she’s a retired financial consultant, that’s why she has the tendency to offer spontaneous ideas on financial matters.
She hates traveling because she thinks it’s a waste of time. She said anywhere you go, you just do the same thing, eat and shop. so why do you have to go to Japan just to eat and shop. Well, she has a point. So when her two boys wanted to vacation in Korea, she just let them go by themselves. She said she’s rather do projects, business projects, than traveling. She hates packing, unpacking, airports, airplanes.
She has no desire to see the world. She’s not interested in chasing the aurora borealis like me. Friends don’t have to like the same things right? We can’t be travel buddies because she doesn’t travel. We can’t be eating buddies because she’s on diet. We can hang out, talk about life, while she sips wine and I drink buko juice.
After she finished two glasses of margarita, we decided to leave. Her husband went to get the car while we waited at the entrance. There was a continuous inflow of women, all dressed up fashionably. Most of them passed through the revolving door but they kept on touching the door. You’re not supposed to touch it because the more it would stop. If it stops, just wait and it’ll move by itself.
There was a group of pretty ladies all in white.
I complemented this lady wearing the aqua wig. I also asked where they were going, why they were all in white.
“The bride is coming”.
Omb—- “Wedding?”
“No, Chippendale”.
Yen spotted the big plastic lighted ring. When she complemented it, the other girl removed her similar ring but in purple color and generously gave it to Yen. She also gave Yen a purple plastic straw shaped like a man’s pennies. Yen was actually still holding a half empty cup of margarita. When the woman saw the cup, she placed the mahalay na straw dun sa cup.
After they left, Yen wanted to throw away the drink. Parang nagilawlawan. I told her it’s a just a straw and it’s for fun. Pero natatawa ako kasi pagnakasubo yung straw parang may maliit na bird na nakalabas sa bibig nya.
Ohhh, all those ladies are going to watch the Chippendales. I imagine lots of shrieking, giggling, screaming when the guys start gyrating their boneless bodies. Men cannot watch this show with women because their eardrums will explode from the ladies’ screams from Chippendales’ sexy snaky moves.
I am going to watch the Chippendale show one of these days, for pure entertainment, while I can still see clearly their maumbok na mga ari-arian. Maybe with my sister. Baka magkang iihi kami sa katatawa at katitili. Isipin ko pa lang parang kinikilig na ako.
Yes, you will definitely have a lot of fun!
