Another year has come

When someone gets sick and dies,  it scares the hell out of me.   Every time someone known to me dies,  it makes me want to write my bilins and list all my utangs.   It makes me cram,  like I am dying too, tomorrow.   Crazy.

Another year has  come to my life.  I will be celebrating another year on the 27th.

Thanks God for this life.  It’s not perfect.  To begin with,  how could I have a perfect life when I am one of the most imperfect persons on earth?  I made lots of pits and falls, some, my own doings,  some, inflicted upon me by others.

Over all,  I am here,  still living long enough to tell my story.   With all humility and openness, I share my life with you:

Look at the camera Princess Annie!

My very regal mom, Ka Felicing, with my very first nephew Junjun, eldest son of Kuya Junior. Junjun is a doctor of medicine, lives in Davis, California with his wife Jennifer and 4 kids.

It’s only now that I am noticing, Aileen and I were wearing the same dress style, even our slippers were the same.
My mother’s my official hair stylist.

Are we being fed?

My mom did my gown. She didn’t keep it as souvenir. Knowing how generous she was to other people, I could only guess that she lent this to someone else and was never returned to us.
My mom dusted powder on my face. That’s it, no lipstick or mascara.
I don’t remember how young I was.
O oh, my shoes. I was wearing my school shoes.

I think I’ve posted this photo before. Anyway, I’d like to show this again. Teying (Atty. Carmelo Arcilla, currently Executive Director of the Civil Aeronautics Board) and I were so tired walking around the streets of Binangonan. Look at my face, same simangot, and my hair, same-same. Ang kati-kati nung gown ko ano? Ang kapal nung petticoat (petikot in Tagalog).
Ang bigat pa ng kapa (train in English, hindi choo choo).

The cutest babies on earth. Aileen, on our mother’s lap. Yours truly, on my yaya’s.
I see a similar pose here. I have the same simangot look. And I have the same haircut, courtesy of momsy.

When my mom cuts my hair she always cut my bangs too short.
And when I complain, she gets mad. I always get screamed at. “Heee, tutubo rin yan!”
Then I would hide and cry.
Now that I am an adult, that’s what I do to my bangs. I cut them so short.
That’s why I always look like Cachupoy.

I’ve posted this photo before but there were hundreds of photos that disappeared when ohmybuhay site crashed. I would like to post this again to make sure I have it on my file. I would like to be able to see this in the future.

Oh I just love my bag. Is that He-re-mes? (The extra e is not a typo error).
