Antinola is back - Oh My Buhay

Our cook of several years, Antonia, messaged me expressing her desire to come back. I told her we already have a kusinera.
She prefers to work here kasi kilala na nya kami. Ang kaso, we’re not sure if we wanted to go back to those tinola days and nights.

I felt miss nya kami so I let her come stay with us for a few days. I didn’t want to commit to hiring her again so I agreed to let her have a staycation here.

Antinola

After several days she was still here hoping her stay would be more or less permanent. She was very at home. I discouraged her to work here.
I told her mag-apply sya sa iba para iba naman, baka mas malaki ang sweldo, mas mabait, mas masarap ang ulam etc. Ayaw daw nya. Kilala na nya kami, mas gusto nya dito. I tried to refresh her memory on those times when Edmund would scold her kasi wala sa ayos ang ulam.

Her retirement plan didn’t materialize according to her. She was being accused by her in-laws of nanglalalaki daw sya. He he he. I am not saying that she’s no longer desirable but that is a weird accusation. I think she’s already 67 so I am sure having a kulasisi is far from her mind.

Our kusinera got intimidated by Antonia’s comeback. She thought Antinola’s tinola was better than hers so she asked to be tranferred to the cleaning department eh isa pa sya na napaka tamad maglinis. #charity. Antonia got lucky. I didn’t have the heart to end her staycation so I rehired her as kusinera. We’re ready to go back to tinola days.

Oyen—– “Antonia ano’ng niluto mo?”
Antonia—- ‘Tinola lang mam, para sa’yo may soup”
Oyen—– “Okay lang.”

Antonia—–“Pancit canton mam.”

Me——“Ano ito?”

Antonia ——- “Gribi.”

Me——-“Sige, kahit ano, maghain ka na. Kakain na kami ni sir.”

Edmund– “Antonia ano ito?”
Antonia— “Gribi”

Antonia recommends drinking avocado tea. She attests to the many health benefits it brings to the body.
