January 12, 2015 Monday

We left the office at 12:30 noon and arrived in Tagaytay at almost 2 pm,  25 minutes late from my 1:30 o’clock meeting.

I wore a sando underneath my cotton blouse.  Even with that,  I still felt a little cold.

When it hit 4 pm,  it was as if there’s a climate switch.  The cold breeze became chillier.  My sando was no longer enough to shield my back from the chill.  By 4:20 pm I was beginning to cough.  Ang ginaw kasi.

It was 4:30 pm and getting dark.  Time to go home.

We would be hitting the two hour traffic when we reach either EDSA or C5 so I’ve decided to have an early dinner in Tagaytay.     No lunch but not feeling hungry because I munched on pili nuts from Bicol.  But I knew I would feel hungry in an hour.

I didn’t know where to go or what to eat.  I was trying to feel what I was in the mood for.  I wanted quiet and fine dining but I was by myself so a casual dining would be okay.  Bulalo  kaya and tawilis?  But I would be bondat kasi I don’t eat bulalo without steam rice.  Bondat na naman ako.

I told the driver to just keep on cruising.  I saw Mushroomburger.  O ayan na lang.  I would also take out some for Nyke.

I gave the driver P60 so he could eat merienda also.

While I was at the Mushroom burger counter,  I couldn’t decide what I liked.  I am not fond of burgers.  I panned the photos and menu but there was nothing that caught my taste buds’ attention.  And I noticed,  there was nothing that’s below P70,   puro mga P100 and up.

I went out and left.  It was too early to go to Firelake Grill because they open at 6 pm.  So takbo uli kami,  then I saw Army Navy.    I love their french fries.

I gave my driver more money kasi dinner na and mahal dito sa Tagaytay.  Mas mahal pa kesa sa Maynila.

While I was standing in front of Army Navy,  I wasn’t sure if I was doing the right thing.  If that’s the place I wanted to be.   Parang hindi rin but my driver left already to eat somewhere.

Sige na nga dito na lang.

I ordered fried chicken and french fries, parang hindi terno.  Kasi sabi ni Antonia ang terno sa fried chicken ay chicken adobo or chicken cocido.  Pwede rin daw tinolang manok.

The dining is on the lower level and open air.

My food came after half hour. It was so chilly so I ate very fast to finish my chicken while still hot.

My eyes were glued on this girl’s butt. I wanted to inform her but she’s aware of her situation because she kept on pulling her t-shirt down. Ladies, please test your garments before leaving the house. Sit down and check if you’re exposing your puwit. I don’t want to see butts while I am trying to enjoy my food.

dining at Army Navy in Tagaytay

While I was almost done, there were four youngsters who appeared from nowhere and greeted the diners. Then the three started playing music while one distributed a leaflet to the 4 occupied tables.

I was observing the reaction of the other customers. The first one was hesitant to accept the piece of paper. I was the last to receive although my table was closest to the 3 guys playing the instruments.
I read the leaflet, they raise funds pala to help poor children learn how to play the instruments. And I would supposed that these four were students there before, now among the teachers.

I thought, abah okay pala dito meron pang music.

While I was beginning to enjoy their music, they stopped and packed up.
A———-“Finished na?”
They didn’t answer, they just looked at me.
A———-“Ha finished na? Ang ikli naman”.
Again, they just looked at me.
I was only about 3 meters away, I asked them about their group. They are playing pala from one restaurant to another to raise money. The other tables naman didn’t pay attention to them and didn’t give any money nor clapped their hands in appreciation.
I told them to play again.
A———-“Gusto ko yung tugtugin nyo yung pinaka maganda nyong alam, I will give you money but I want you to give it your all”.
Kasi yubng mga nauna nilang tugtog medyo hindi impressive.

The female violinist (Guilla Dumaran) was frowning all the time.
A———-“Bakit ka laging nakasimangot? Para kang nakipag-break sa boyfriend mo?”

Renren Macarse, Guilla, and Arjaylo Dejella with their rendition of Anak Rock.

They didn’t expect to get a P500 bill from me. The waiters teased them after seeing how much I’ve given. Swerte daw.

I stayed for a few more minutes after they had left. It became clear to me why my feet brought me to that restaurant at that exact moment.
