Ayala Museum and birthday dinner @ Antonio’s

As I get older, the energy to throw a big party diminishes. A part of me wants to host a nice dinner, but my body says Oh, I’m tired.

In the past, I was always out of the country on my birthday. Hindi naman sinasadya, nagkakataon lang kasi May was usually spent in California with the Tans.

My recent birthday was here in Manila. A few days prior, my daughter asked me what my plan was. Tamad na nga ako mag plano, my mind wanted to plan, but my body refused to. Ganyan pag matanda na or tumatanda na. I told her I wanted to visit the chapel, go to a museum, then a simple dinner.

Wowa, Yen, Theo

I received lovely flowers from my daughter.

Chapel and flowers

Spent two hours at Ayala Museum admiring the works of Amorsolo, etc.

My daughter looked for a restaurant na ang lagi namin requirement ay yung malapit lang kasi baka heavy traffic.

We had a simple birthday dinner at Antonio’s in EDSA, Greenhills.
My guests were Edmund, Oyen, Derrick, and my most important guest was apopoo Theo.

Oh my buhay birthday

I couldn’t help but observed the couple sitting near our table. They looked like they were celebrating an important occasion. There was a big bouquet of expensive-looking flowers, a gift in a box. BUT, but, but, they spent most of their time tinkering with their individual cellphones. Kung mag boyfriend pa lang kayo and you dine out and spend more time on your respective phones, looking bored, nanay ko po, what more when you’ve been married for a few years. Wala na kayong mapagkwentuhan just like Edmund and I.

I have a kilometric long list of things to be thankful for. Thank you is simply not enough to express appreciation for this life. The heaven knows there’s gratitude in here.
