Upon reaching Baguio City we went straight to Rose Bowl for a super late alanganing lunch. We didn’t want to go to the hotel yet otherwise we would feel lazy to go out after we’ve checked in.
My generation’s iconic soup, Hototay.
Steamed Lapu-lapu with ginger and soy sauce
It was swimming in cooking oil. I tried to scoop up the oil but and dami. I just gave up and started eating the fish. Dapat konti lang ang oil.
After steaming the fish, place it on a serving tray, pour one or two tablespoonfuls of hot or boiling oil on the fish from the head to its tail, put the garnishing– stringed ginger, leaks, wansoy, spring onions. Pour mixed soy sauce (dash of pepper, kikkoman, soy sauce, water) season to taste.
There were fruit vendors at Rose Bowl’s entrance. I’d rather buy locally produced fruits than Chinese’ apples.
From Rose Bowl. we went to Mines View Park for my favorite dessert strawberry taho. One cup sells for thirty pesos.
While we’re eating strawberry taho, a Ford Everest bought Ford EDSA pulled up and parked right in front of us.
A—–“Ang ganda pala ng ganitong kulay”.
The owner who was passing in front of Edmund and I heard me say that. Nice kasi yung color. There were several of Ford Rangers and Ford Everests parked on the street near Mines View Park.
We were done eating taho and yet our driver was still busy shopping for souvenirs. He is leaving for Los Angeles in October and staying there for good.
