December 30, 2015 Baguio
Baguio Country Club is known for its difficult golf course that has steep climbs and unforgiving terrain. Many golfers don’t get to finish their game because of the difficulty of walking up and down the hilly course.
When I told my friends from PCCI that Edmund would be playing there, they said “bakit sya lalaro dun eh taun-taon merong namamatay dun”.
They were referring to one or two incidents when a golfer suffered a heart attack while playing golf.
Dining at the country club’s terrace is also popular. It’s a place to see and be seen. Their breakfast is pretty popular because of the golfers.
The place’s popularity was further boosted by President Pnoy’s most recent vacation in Baguio. It was reported that he dined at the Country Club. My husband naman was envious that Pnoy got to drive up and down Baguio on a sports car.
A—–“Eh di tawagan mo. Next time sabihin mo kasama ka”.
We’ve stayed here once before, maybe 18 or 20 years ago.
Edmund comes here yearly because of golf.
Parang the terrace is newly renovated. Portions of the flooring were replaced with laminated floors. More than half of the original hardwood floors were gone.
Their extensive buffet includes crepe suzette.
Their bakeshop’s raisin bread occupies top spot on the list of pasalubong from Baguio of rich individuals. Second is the ube jam from Good Shepherd. For the less affluent, tambo and strawberry jam are the top buys.
My son wanted to buy two banana bread. They wouldn’t sell to him because he was not registered. He was asked to go to the reception counter where he filled out a one page form. They also photocopied his driver’s license.
After a few minutes, the receptionist came back with one whole page list of terms and conditions, one of which is a 20% additional charge for his purchase.
My son felt 20% was too much. We dropped the idea of buying anything from this place. The bakeshop at the Manor Hotel also sells raisin bread and banana bread without the need to divulge your personal information.
Ang weird bat may ganun pa? D sapat na may pambayad? Pati tinapay exclusive? Hehe
Kasi daw exclusive for members and hotel guests lang.
Exclusive DAW pero there is a kiosk at SM Baguio and a coffee shop near Baguio Country Club that sells them every day 🙁
Sana para sa mga VIP Patrons and their families who occasionally play golf at the course, sana mabigyan sila ng Courtesy Passes for them to be able to buy the goods WITHOUT 20% ADDITIONAL CHARGES para naman mas maging madalas ang pag bakasyon ng families ng VIPs .. 😉
Take care and have a nice day, Ms Annie.. God bless u and the family always…
There’s a kiosk sa SM Baguio selling raisin and banana breads from Baguio Country Club without all the hassle. Maswerte pa anak mo kasi kami nun totally hindi man lang nakapasok haha
Hi, Ms. Annie! Am catching up on your blog after my brief holiday…regarding Baguio Country Club raisin bread and banana bread, they are available at Heaven and Eggs restaurant in Glorietta. It is the resto right beside the Glorietta entrance, It is outside and not inside the mall. Hopefully, this helps your son’s craving. Happy New Year!
Thank you for the info Olivia. Happy NY too. Warm regards.
Giving a copy of your driver’s license to qualify to buy a loaf of bread at a premium?! That is so absurd.
Before We were able to buy Raisin Bread at Villa Cordillera in Outlook Dr S
