Before going to Amphawa floating market we made a quick visit to the Bangkung Navy Camp in Bangkhontee, Thailand.
There are concrete statues of fighting Chinese soldiers which were erected in 1967 to serve as a memorial for those who fought for King Taksin. This temple grounds was the site of the 18th century battle between Siam and the Burmese invaders.

There’s a Buddhist temple in the same compound as the Bangkung Navy Camp but we didn’t go in anymore, we just took photos beside the concrete roosters standing beside the temple.
Century old banyan trees covered the temple
I was about to enter the temple when a lady called me and wrapped me with this blanket. I wonder when was the last time they washed this.
Buddhas covered with gold leaf
I just stayed at the entrance. I didn’t go up the stairs to go around the Buddah’s back.
Our tour guide Olive converted into Christianity because according to her she didn’t agree with the Buddhism’s karma beliefs. She also told us that if you ask for a favor from the Buddha or Hindu god you have to give something in return and/or the god will take away something from you in return for the favor.
Her father passed away on the same day she said something hurtful to him. Her family told her she would never be forgiven because of karma. She became depressed because of that and for many years she was unhappy. She said our God is forgiving and loving.
