The wedding reception of Leo and Kat was held on the beach in Hamilo Coast.
Guests were advised to wear a more comfortable long dress for ladies and something more comfy for men. I wore the short blue dress made by Amir Sali for the Ting Hun ceremony of my daughter three years ago. I didn’t want to wear a long dress kasi sasabit sa buhangin (sand).
After the wedding ceremony, we had time to go back to Pico Sands Hotel to rest and change. We didn’t have lunch kaya Edmund ordered a whole pizza but it arrived at 5 pm, just before we were leaving the hotel for the reception.
The pre-dinner cocktails was set up in the expansive garden that looked like a golf course. There was a Potato Corner stand, coffee, sorbetes pero naubusan ako kasi we arrived late. They also have a souvenir section — personalized eco bags. You choose your decor ang pa-plantsahin nila. Nung panahon namin ang uso ay ceramic swan or heart with tiny ribbons. We’ve attended weddings with key chains, wallets, picture frames, and leatherette bag tags. The millennials are more creative and have more money to spend.
SAAN UUPO ANG ALALAY?
While Edmund and I were walking to the reception area, two members of the event organizing team approached us.
Event organizer #1 —- “Mam, ano’ng name nyo?”
Me—– “Annie Tan-Yee”
Event organizer #1 —— “Mam, ninang kayo”
While he was going over the list of guests, looking for my name, my husband asked the other guy:
Edmund—— “Saan uupo ang mga alalay? Magkalapit ba kami?”
Event guy #2——- “Ay sir, hindi ho, sa iba, malayo, ibang table.”
Edmund —– “Ay, hindi pala kami magkalapit, babalik na lang ako sa hotel, matutulog na lang ako.”
Event organizer guy found my name on the list, VIP Table number 1. And Edmund’s name was listed as Ninong.
Edmund —“oh nadyan pala pangalan ko, bakit sabi mo hindi kami magkalapit?”
Even guy #2 —– “Eh sir sabi mo kasi saan uupo yung alalay.”
Edmund ——— “Alalay naman talaga ako.”
Mr. Yee, the poor fellow didn’t get your joke. If I were in his shoes, I will give the same answer. Ang mga alalay hindi syempre kasama sa VIP table.
THE DINNER RECEPTION
The actual dinner reception was held under a big tent near the beach but I didn’t see nor hear the sea. But I felt the humidity and heat. Walang ka hangin-hangin.
Two young and beautiful ninangs also, Hon. Justice Ivy Reyes-Fajardo and Atty. Laura Victoria Yuson
The food and drinks were overflowing. Ako ang nag-give up. Masarap pero hindi ko na kaya, give up.
The heat didn’t dampen the wedding celebration of Leo and Kat. Their friends from grade school to law school came in full force. Nakakatuwa ang closeness nila.
The party ended at exactly 10 pm. My husband and I had a good time although sya nirayuma kasi 3 hours kami nakaupo.
Happy to have witnessed this beautiful wedding.
I was grateful too to the artist who made my boobs bigger.
Congratulations to Leo and Kat. May you be blessed with tsikiting gubats. kahit isang baby okay na. Pressure!
