I was in a hurry to get to Dusit Thani Hotel on time. With the very bad traffic around Makati leading to the Ayala center, I was so agitated while spending almost an hour just to clear through Pasay Road. Thankfully, I arrived in Dusit at 12:20 pm, 10 minutes shy of the call time of 12:30 pm.
There were several Christmas trees in the lobby. These were decorated by elementary kids. The decors were their school art and project. they’re very creative.
As usual.
We are all busy people. It’s really hard to leave the office or whatever one is doing to go to another place.
sometimes, tyempong-tyempo, when I am about to leave the office, that’s the time naman something would come-up that needs some urgent attention. I am sure the same holds true to my colleagues at the Women’s Business Council.
I brought some Ford Cainta souvenirs
I arrived ahead of the WBCP secretary
Mylene Abiva arrived at past 1 pm. Chit Juan arrived at past 1:30 pm, she got caught in a traffic jam.
Cora D. Ong brought two boxes of canned tuna.

Benjarong is an authentic Thai restaurant located on the mezzanine floor of Dusit
Our appetizer was a combination of Miang Takrai (Tuna Lemon in pastry cup) and Yam som O (Pomelo Salad). A bit spicy but really good.
I chose the Pandan Juice over the darker Lemon Grass. it was sweet and refreshing.
Gaeng Chud Taohu (Clear Soup with tofu and pork)
I thought they would continue serving us with fancy plating but when the main courses arrived, they were just placed on ordinary plates and seved family style, for sharing.
This is the popular Phad Thai Gung (stir fried noodle with prawn, beancurd and beansprout)
Phad Phak Kana Pla Kem (Stir fried Kailan with salted fish)
Bualoy Khai Wan (Taro, pumpkin and rice flour balls in warm coconut milk)
I expected the luncheon cum Christmas party to finish by 2 pm but since we started at past 1 pm, it ended at 3 pm. I had another meeting at 3 na late ako.
For some reason I do not remember which among the dishes wowed me. Maybe because I was not focused on the food. I was too distracted and wanting to leave during the lunch because I was running late for my next appointment. I kept on calling the waiter.. “matagal pa ba?”
I would like to bring my family here one time to give Benjarong another chance to impress me, when I am more relaxed and not pressured with time.
Id like to try the bualoy khai wan but mukhang sasakit ang tyan ko.
