We all went to Bicester Village on April 17, 2017. We took Uber to the train station.
The Uber driver was a Filipino who used to work at Conrad Hotel. He greeted the doorman happy birthday.
I was shivering at the train station. It was too cold. My husband offered to give me his jacket, ayaw ko sya naman ang magiginaw.
Our tickets were discounted because there were many of us.
Trains make it easy and comfortable to travel far from city to city.
After at least an hour of smooth ride, we reached Bicester. It was very cold and yet hundreds if not thousands were eager to shop.
To say that Bicester Village is an outlet cluster does not aptly describe this shopping area in my honest opinion. The quality of the merchandise make me feel like I am walking along Rodeo Drive. If you are looking for bargain stuff, Bicester Village is not the place to go. If you want luxury items that are discounted, then you may find them here.
For example, the Karen Millen dresses. They have dresses that are well over BP400. The average price is assuming BP 250 each dress x 65 = P 16,250 a dress. Cheaper than buying in Manila, but still is expensive if you are looking for clothes to wear to the office or on a day to day activities.
Oyen liked the pink Maje dress on the left side but it was too small for her.
The tag price is BP700+ minus discount = BP 300 + more or less. It’s still is expensive.
We went inside the Gucci store but we only stayed for less than 5 minutes. We just took a peek.
We have different impressions of the place. I think it’s a little bit like Woodbury Commons in NY and Gotemba in Tokyo. It’s not so big, one could walk from end to end without getting tired.
It does not have the complete line up of luxury brands. It does have a big multi-level Prada store. There was a 15 minute cue when we went. I found my green suede bag there selling for about 20% less than the amount I paid for it in the US. The 10% add on tax in the US in comparison with the minus 10% for the tax refund in UK make a big difference.
This must be the cheapest Valentino bag.
I am not a fan of Valentino’s spikes or rockstuds. I find them tacky.
Elmer was looking for a Ralph Lauren shirt for his daughter Bea. He didn’t find one.
I liked that blue and white hand bag. Pero it took me a while to decide. I went back to the Dolce and Gabbana store twice. When I was all set to get it, someone had snatched it already. It wasn’t meant to be. Buti nga.
I liked this little purse but I couldn’t put even a lipstick.
It’s cute but impractical. It’s more of a wallet than a bag.
