December 27, 2014 Seoul City Tour
From the Ginseng Center, we were brought to a Korean restaurant where our food had been pre-selected. We were given two food choices: bibimbap or bulgogi.
We ordered two each so the four of us get to taste both dishes.
Bibimbap is a traditional dish consisting of white steamed rice topped with soy bean paste called doenjang, soy sauce, sliced seaweed, pre-cooked vegetables called namul, served in a stone bowl which keeps the rice dish hot.
In Manila, the bulgogi I’ve come to know is grilled and without any soupy liquid.
In Korea, it’s served in a stone pot bowl with white onions and soup. I like the Manila version.
