HONGKONG- We wanted to do something different aside from just walking, shopping and eating. Julienne was able to research about Nan Lian Garden in Diamond Hill, Yau Ma Tei, Kowloon that’s easily accessible by MTR. It’s about 6 or 7 stops from Tsim Sha Tsui.
My son left his MTR ticket in the machine. He noticed that Julienne, Edmund and I were still holding on to ours. We were teasing him that he wouldn’t be able to get out of the train.
We actually bought another ticket for HK$8 so he could exit.
There’s a big mall called Hollywood Plaza above the Diamond Hill MTR station.
We walked uphill for a short 5 minutes to Nan Lian.
The 3.5 hectares garden is well manicured and full of bonsai looking trees that are huge. Some of the trees looked like they’ve been there for over 50 years.
The Nan Lian Garden opened to the public on November 15, 2006. It’s a replica of the Yishouju Garden from the Tang Dynasty.
The garden is adjacent to the Chi Lin Nunnery that was established in 1934 but has recently been renovated.
