When my nephew Randy got married in New York a couple of years ago, their online bridal registry allowed guests to choose from among housewares items. The prices were very cheap I ended up ticking several items.
When my other nephew, Patrick, got married in Hollister, CA two years ago, their online registry was innovative. Patrick had bought his own townhouse a few years before their marriage and his place is already complete with housewares and furnishings. The couple have already been living in together. Instead of housewares, their online bridal registry site listed their estimated honeymoon expenses to Paris. It’s more of sponsorship such as tickets to Euro Disney, dinners, airfares, etc. I didn’t choose from among those listed but instead I wrote them a check, bahala na sila if they want to spend it or keep it.
It’s Oyen’s turn to get married and she told me she’s not going to have a bridal registry.
