Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP / Central Bank) Governor Amando M. Tetanco, Jr. was the guest of honor and speaker at the commencement exercises in Ateneo last Sunday. He is also an Atenista.
My daughter thought his speech was more appropriate for a trade and investment forum or economic briefing. On the contrary, Edmund listened to every word he said and found his theme relevant to us, businessmen.
The last five minutes of his speech was inspirational for the graduates. Here are a few that I remembered:
1. Be a positive force.
2. Make excellence as a standard in everything that you do.
3. Never compromise your integrity.
4. Be sure you are on the right path.
5. Always consult your conscience.
6. Learning is never static.
7. Uphold the Ignatian values of honest hard work.
