December 30, 2014
Time to say goodbye. Lee, the same van driver who picked us up from Incheon on December 26 was the same guy bringing us back to the airport. He arrived right on the dot at 2 pm.
Driver Lee kept on pointing at some condominiums telling us that’s where this and that Korean pop star lives.
“Oh really” lang kami ng “Oh really”, kasi hindi naman namin kilala yung mga superstars nila.
It was faster this time. Just 55 minutes drive.
Korea’s Global Tax Free System is very efficient. They give the cash refund right away. The processing was very fast, wala ng kung anu-anong tanong.
I didn’t shop except for the most expensive ginseng which was already tax free kuno according to the store. Only my 3 companions bought some office wear.
One good thing pa pala here in Korea is that you don’t have to buy expensive goods to avail of tax free. If I am not mistaken, you only need to purchase W30,000 worth of merchandise. That’s only approx. US$27. Unlike in other countries, say France, you need to purchase a minimum of Euro 150 per store.
O———-“Mom, they have Hermes here. Are you going inside?”
A———-“Sige, pasok tayo anak”.
A———-“Kuhanan kita anak, dyan ka”.
O———-“Why me? Mom, I’ve been to Hermes stores worldwide (laughs)”.
A———-“That’s my pilgrimage, tingin lang tayo, libre naman ang tingin”.
We inventoried our remaining Wons most especially the coins.
We used our remaining cash to buy food, AGAIN!
Time to walk off the calories.
Mahal pala talaga ang ginseng, the authentic ones.
Oyen grew up surrounded by Hello Kitty. Pokemon for my son.
She couldn’t get enough of it. Nostalgic.
Plenty of coffee shops everywhere in Seoul.
Fizz and Jazz
Thailand and Singapore airports are ahead in terms of the number of orchids used to decorate their airports.
This group walked back and forth the stretch of the airport. This is the Walk of the Royal Family daw. It’s actually cool, they entertain anxious travelers and at the same time they are able to introduce a little bit of their rich culture and tradition.
Boarding time soon, at gate 22
Boarding, haba naman ng line, ‘maya na lang kami.
With the crash of Air Asia in Java, I was so nerbyos talaga taking this flight.
I haven’t written my last will and testament. Sino magmamana ng mga utang ko.
We asked to be moved to the emergency exits that’s why we were not seated together. Edmund and I were on the other side. Ang sikip ng silya, para lang sa mga payat.
As soon as I boarded, na migraine attack na agad ako. Edmund said kasi nga tensed daw ako. I was so terrified. Ayokong mahulog sa tubig, I don’t know how to swim. Ayokong mag-skydiving, I don’t know how to fly. Hayan, yung mahilig maglakwatsa, pero duwag naman, nerbyosa.
Nalibang ako ng konti watching nice movies. Pero every now and then they would switch on the seatbelt sign, there’s turbulence daw. The captain said “we expect a smooth flight”. Tapos maya’t-maya “please fasten your seat belts, there’s turbulence”.
We landed safely. Hay glory to God in the highest and peace to his people on earth. We are safe and alive, Alelluia!
Oyen’s boyfriend came to the airport with a bouquet of flowers and a bond paper with her name printed on it. Parang tour guide. I have to give credit where credit is due. A is for Eyfort.
Our welcome dinner courtesy of Antonia. Her second best dish- fried chicken.
Welcome home.
