No breakfast and no lunch yet, but couldn’t decide which restaurant to go or what food to eat. We were driving by on our way to Strawberry Farm when I saw the facade of Cafe by the Ruins. I got off the van and ate here, lunch and merienda combination.
It’s adjacent to Mario’s Restaurant.
A little bit of its beginning.
Baguio Bagnet
Bilo-bilo I was led to the second floor by the waiters on the ground floor. The waitress was very solicitous. Offering me every dish on the planet. I was attracted to the Baguio Bagnet when I saw it on the menu. I ordered that. She suggested that I order more dishes. One wall is occupied by paintings for sale, done by Baguio-based artists. I also bought one for 1,800 pero I controlled myself. I have so many little ones, kakalat lang. The theme was native.
I was glad I went during off-hours, kaya walang tao. The downside was that the waitress and waiter had nothing to do but stare at me. Mahirap kumain pagpinapanood. They were only staring blankly. Parang mga wala sa sarili. Antok siguro. I felt conscious eating while the waitress was one meter away, facing me and looking at my every subo. I turned my head and looked at her. Mabuti nakahalata, lumayo ng konti. Nakuha sa tingin. I ordered Baguio Bagnet with complimentary bowl of sinigang soup.
I will bring Edmund and my kids next time to try the other dishes in the menu like the arroz caldo.
My food bill. I asked for an official receipt and they gladly issued one.
