Our first day visit to the Grand Bazaar moved back our schedules. Instead of taking it on the first day, the ladies decided to go shopping first so we detoured which took away 6 hours of our time.
Ali, made us feel comfortable by giving us cold bottled water and Turkish delicacies.
Edmund———— “Ano ba yung Kabakla?”
Me—————- “Tart, magagalit sa’yo si Boy Abunda. Baklava”.
From the Grand Bazaar, another two hours were wasted due to Istanbul’s heavy traffic jam. After driving for 3 hours towards Canakkale, we made a 15 minutes stop at a gas station with a small gift shop. We weren’t charged the standard weewee fee of 1 Lira upon the intercession of our tour guide.
The first thing that I noticed when I entered the small store were the bananas. They looked so kawawa.
She didn’t want me to take her picture kasi daw mukha na syang weary and tired.
I didn’t know that most Turkish don’t speak English. I also didn’t see a Turkish newspaper in English in this store.
The store was so small but had interesting stuff.
I bought Turkish coffee and apple tea for pasalubong.
It was a long drive thru wilderness and darkness. I felt so dirty and really tired. Although my spirits were still high, my legs, my back, my shoulders, and everything else, were nirarayuma na.
When I get rich, I would bring a masseuse everywhere I go.
Another few hours drive and we reached a 24-hour ferry.
Our bus rolled in which was so cool actually. It was my first time to experience riding on a RO-RO. It was only a short 35 minutes boat ride which we made use of by getting drinks, Doritos, and my daughter stretched my legs. She gave me a short foot massage which relieved my tiredness and rayuma.
The WC was so bantot. I ended up cleaning their banyo.
There were a couple of men fishing.
Sayang it would have been better had we reached this port while the sun was still up. I am pretty sure the scenery would be nice.
Ganyan pala ang Ro-RO nila, konti lang ang tao, puro trucks, and just two cars.
I wanted to sit on the deck pero ang ginaw.
Nyke bought this Lipton-tasting tea for 10 Lira.
Our bus rolled out of the ferry boat. Another two hours drive thru darkness and wilderness, and at exactly midnight, we reached our first hotel in Turkey, the Kolin Hotel, in Canakkale.
I felt like Lola Cinderella while getting off the bus. Finally, after travelling for 31 hours via van, plane, plane, bus, boat, bus, we’re here.
Me————– “Ay, thank you Lord.”
Oyen———— “You’re like Lola.”
Buildings across from the hotel
Bing and Krissy of Bridges Travel- getting our room keys.
The hotel is big but looked so gloomy at midnight.
There were several posters at the entrance announcing current and future hotel events.
Sweet naman nitong hotel na ito. I love you too.
We didn’t make it to the 7:30 buffet. Instead, they prepared a set menu so we could have something before we go to bed.
Who has an appetite at 12 midnight, after travelling for more than 31 hours?
Dessert that looked like leche flan, tasted like leche flan, and texture was like leche flan.
Maybe it’s called leche flan. But no.
The beds looked so small but sa pagod ko, kahit sa hallway, kahit walang latag, makakatulog ako.
While I was inside the banyo, nabigla ako kasi bakit nakikita ko si Edmund? Nay ko, pang honeymooners yata ito. Hinayaan ko na lang.
Pero nung si Edmund na ang pumasok, aba isinara nya yung blinds. Ayaw masilipan. Conservative?
