Charles Bridge Palace Hotel

I booked online our hotels in Budapest, Prague and Vienna just a few days before leaving Manila. I chose this small hotel for it’s proximity to Pragues number one tourist destination, the Charles Bridge.

I booked two river view rooms, one for me, one for Aileen and Kimberly.

There was no bell boy to help with our luggage, at least when we arrived at the hotel on November 8, 2015. Kanya-kanyang hila. My two luggage are heavy. Oh I miss my husband, his strong muscles more specifically.

The hotel’s lobby reminds me of Hotel Beaujolais in Lourdes.

The hotel has nice tiles, no need for this annoying area rugs.  My bags were heavy,  kinaladkad ko yung rug,  mukhang ang alikabok pa.  Inayos ko pa.   Kainis.

I found my room.  The hallways were dark,  although there are light sensors,  pero nakatayo na ako sa harap,  the lights would not turn on still.  Open hello,  ang dilim ano, parang may multo.

I already knew from the beginning that our hotel would be smaller and devoid of extravagance. But still, I must say that there was an initial shock. I missed Budapest right away. I missed my comfortable bed, the view from the window, the space, the modern facilities, the concierge, ang arte ko. At, wala kasi ang taga buhat ko ng maleta.

Centralized aircon has been switched off to my big disappointment. They’ve been switched to heater because it’s winter.

I was disappointed because I could hear the noise from the street, because there’s no aircondition inside the room, I couldn’t close my windows. I could last an hour without having a migraine attack when the room is enclosed without fresh air. No to stuffy rooms. No to stale air.

Parang ayaw kong umupo,  parang feeling ko maalikabok.

I closed the double windows to see how noisy or how quiet it could get. I could hear some kind of annoying sound. It was coming from the tiny ref. I switch it off. Hayun tumahimik ng konti.

After about half hour, I noticed that black thing embedded on the wall.  And what is that?

vault on the wall

It’s a vault. Parang ayaw kong ilagay passport ko dito.  Sinilip ko pa baka may ipis sa loob.  Sorry, kala ko pareho sa bahay namin, maraming ipis.

Kaya pala I was given two keys attached to this ugly key holder.  One is for the vault.

Hi bed. We’ll be together for four nights. Cuddle me to sleep.
