Chef’s Home, a repeat

December 5, 2015
It was the farewell party and awarding ceremonies of the Fil-Am Golf Tournament. My husband said kasama daw ako. I told him he should just go with his team mates.

Omb——“Tart, ikaw na lang umattend. Sasabihin nila binabantayan kita. Ipagmakahiya mo ako”.
E——–“Hinde, sumama ka para makita mo yung awarding, kung paano, etc.”

It’s a men’s event and having a wife beside him would attract unnecessary attention and remarks. I would be one female among 200 – 300 men.
“Gwardyado ka!”
“Rule number one, never bring your wife.”
“Yung misis nun, laging naka bantay.”

So he went by himself and I had dinner by myself.
I couldn’t think of a better place to eat good food than at Chef’s Home.

The restaurant was full. Only two tables were vacant. There were about twenty people. For such a small place, that’s already considered full.

The owner, Gina found out that I was around again so she came out to greet me. Napatingin tuloy yung ibang kumakain. Siguro nagtaka kung sino ako.

Since I was alone, I skipped the fried papaya salad and the fish. I ordered two large prawns and a cup of steamed rice.

One order of the dessert roti with peaches and ice cream was supposed to be good for 4 persons. I asked the waiter if I could just order half because I was by myself. He said hindi daw pwede. When Gina found out that I wanted the roti, she agreed to prepare just half.
Half was good for two people but I finished it all.
