Chi Lin Nunnery

Julienne took a lot of nice photos of the Chi Lin Nunnery but she hasn’t posted them yet on her site. Here are the photos that I took:

This sprawling Buddhist temple complex was built in 1934 and renovated in the 1990s according to the Chinese architecture prevailing during the Tang Dynasty. No metal or steel nail or nuts and bolts were used to connect the timbers. they used the traditional interlocking methods during the olden times.

If I am not mistaken this is GUANYIN, the Goddess of Mercy.

Other tourists thought Edmund was the temple security guard.

The Buddhist temple complex has several ponds with running water but I didn’t notice any fish.
