October 18, 8 pm Friday
Deciding on where to eat for dinner was quick. We passed by the Chinatown area early in the day while we were walking to Oxford St. and the enticing restaurants were captured by our food memory bank.
Walking back to our hotel, Chinatown was a block away from the main road, Charing Cross.
London’s Chinatown is bigger than the Chinatown in San Francisco . There are more restaurants here.
After looking at different menu’s we ended up eating noodles again, just like the previous night.
Common verdict— they both tasted like Hototay.
I ordered pork bun siopao
Chinatown in London is more vibrant than our own Chinatown in Ongpin. It spans several blocks and hundreds of restaurants enjoy full patronage especially on weekends. Pero yung menu nila tila mga nagkokopyahan. The good thing is, the largely printed and back lit menu are prominently displayed outside their restaurants so there wouldn’t be any surprises.
We took a shorter route back to Trafalgar Square. Medyo madilim dito because there were abandoned buildings.
In the middle of a dark alley, biglang merong pinipilahan na bar. It’s Friday night!
There are many embassies, museums and government offices around our hotel.
It’s Autumn. I want to be back here June or July, maybe the weather would be more pleasant.
