Cirque du Soleil O - Oh My Buhay

January 18, 2019  Friday

I didn’t know that it’s been 5 years that my son’s been wanting to watch the Cirque du Soleil.  He never mentioned it.

Nine thousand people a night watch all the Cirque shows in Vegas.  It was expected that tickets are sold out during weekends most especially on holidays.

Cirque has multiple shows in Las Vegas and most shows get sold out. An estimated 9,000 people watch Cirque each night, which is 5% of the city’s visitors.
We were able to get two seats for O, the water-themed contemporary circus of Cirque du Soleil at the Bellagio Hotel. With less than two days, choices of seats were very limited.

The show time was at 7 pm. We made sure we reached the venue an hour at least before the show. Our worry was finding a parking at The Strip. The good thing about the massive hotel casinos here is they provide adjacent parking buildings that can hold thousands of cars.

O is eau, French for water or wato if you’re slang.

We haven’t had dinner yet, kaya we bought a bucket of popcorn to be sure we don’t starve during the 90 minute non-stop acrobatics.

One wouldn’t think this huge theatre is inside a hotel.

Cirque du Soleil was founded in Montreal, Canada in 1984 by two street performers, Guy Laliberté and Gilles Ste-Croix.
It expanded rapidly and is now the largest theatrical producer in the world. It has 19 shows worldwide and employs 4,000 employees from 40 countries. At least 90,000,000 people have seen this multi-awarded show so far.

The performers are fearless.  They leap, jump, dive, flip in the air.  I couldn’t bear to watch some of the flying scenes.

There are sculptures depicting the many stunts at O that are on exhibit/ for sale at the foyer. This one is priced at US$ 42,000 + 8.25% sales tax.
