It was a mistake accepting the Citi Prestige Visa Credit Card. There’s nothing wrong with them but I should not have accepted this card because I rarely used it. I just wasted my money paying for the P12,000 annual fee. Sayang ang pera. There was a time I didn’t get to use it for a year or almost a year.
I decided to use it sometime in September or October of this year. When I received the online statement of account, I forwarded it to my staff for payment. Then two weeks ago, I got a reminder to pay it. I verified with Roger, the accountant in charge of payables if Citibank had been paid. He looked at his records and yes indeed, it was paid on November 4, 2019. Okay thank you.
Then a few days ago I received a call from Citibank saying that I haven’t paid. I told the woman nabayaran na. I contacted my staff who sent the payment to the bank. She assured me it had been paid. I told her to double-check. Bingo!!!! Yes, she sent the payment, not to my credit card account, but to Oyen’s account. Magaling. And now, it incurred almost two thousand pesos of additional interest and penalty. Kunsumisyon.
I called to cancel this card but apparently I accumulated points na masasayang and redemption must be done online. I went to Citibank’s website but I had to key in the anti-fraud CVV number found at the back of the card. Asan na, itinapon ko na yung card.
