Hay Naku, here are some shopping secrets whenever you go back to Paris. Mga Ma-feeling lang ang nag shopping sa St. Honore at Avenue Montaigne. You have to go to depot vente shops in Paris o segunda Mano. Tunay but a fraction of the price Kase used Di ba. They have a website if you google depot vente.
In addition, if you don’t mind last season’s designs, you have to shop at lavallee village in Val d’Europe malapit sa euro Disney. Take the RER train to get there and get off after the euro Disney stop. They have cavalli, Loro piana, Versace givenchy etc for a fraction of the price.

I live in Canada but in the last four years everyChristmas and the summer, my partner and I would go to Paris for vacations so I just kinda got used to the Ins and outs of Paris. Unfortunately, I don’t know any Balikbayan boxes.
Oh and before I forget, a good place to eat in Paris is this restaurant called Villa Spicy. You know how french food could be matabang, this is the only one we’ve found that’s not…a bit more fine dining but worth it. Plus, you have to make a reservation online ahead of time. It is located on avenue Franklin Roosevelt so if you go down the hill on champs élysées towards the big ferries wheel, turn left when you see the Banana Republic store. It’s probably 6-10 meters within avenue franklin Roosevelt.
Have you seen the Last Supper fresco in Milan? A must see when you go to Milan at the Santa Maria delle grazia church. I’d love to read about your impression of the painting in your blog.
Wow naman you’re going to Bordeaux and meeting with the Mayor! I’ve never been to that region of France so take lots of pictures and blog about it and I’ll live vicariously through your experiences lol.
Anyhow, it’s so nice to see a kababayan being an active leader in business and the women’s movement.

I haven’t been back home since we immigrated to Canada in the 90’s. My parents and my brother have been a few times to our home in Baguio but not I.
Because I haven’t been home I’m always curious about life in the Philippines. Well, the first search result when it googled buhay sa pilipinas was yours. Ever since, got hooked reading about your entries.
My plan originally was to go to Southeast Asia this summer including Manila but my mom thought I was nuts because that’s monsoon season. So I’m going to Aix en Provence in July instead…sayang! Next year for sure Manila. So I hope your mirienda invite is still available then.
I’ve been to a few European countries so ask away as I may have a few hidden tips. BTW, in France whenever you order meat from the menu….always ask for bien cuit (pronounced byah qwee) well cooked otherwise parang buhay pa your ulam (sorry for the graphic details). French coffee sucks (don’t tell the mayor of Bordeaux) so keep an eye for Starbucks.
In Paris, both men and women wear scarves. They have summer scarves and winter scarves. To blend in a little with the locals either bring one with you or buy one.
Last but not least, drag your kids and your husband with you underground and take the metro. Paris metro is clean and well connected. Your feet will thank you at the end!
