Clean House by Vilma

Most households do the general cleaning prior to Christmas, in preparation for parties at home and lots of visitors.

I do the general cleaning instead after January 1, after the usok from New Year’s Eve revelries.

Two women have been thoroughly cleaning our house beginning January 2 or 3, Nimfa and Vilma. Nimfa has been our staff for two years. I assign her where ever general cleaning is needed. Vilma is an ex-OFW. She just came back from Kuwait and has decided not to go back abroad so she could spend more time with her growing children. Nimfa recommended her to me and so far she has proven to be reliable, efficient and I notice she has higher aptitude than the others. She was the only one who knew how to dismantle my draperies, and she was the one who installed them back. She did not fear cleaning my chandeliers, unlike the others “mam, natatakot ako, baka mabasag”. Tapos isang hawak pa lang, basag na talaga. vilma cleaned the lights in the powder room and walang nabasag. I showed her how to do it and she was able to follow with no broken crystals. She said that’s what her job is when she was in Kuwait. She stayed in a mansion and there were 3 of them cleaning the whole house every single day. Kaya sanay na sanay sya.

I do pay Nimfa and Vilma a lot to help me around the house but it’s worth it. They can accomplish in one day what ordinary housemaids could do in 30 days. I am not exaggerating. Our stay-in maids clean for an hour max, afterwhich, they chat, text, call, nap, do their nails, shower, eat, watch tv, manungaw sa labas. But Vilma just works and works the whole day.

Their salaries? P11,000 each a month, net. Daig pa ang mga nag-uupisina.
I feel the cleanliness of the ground floor of our residence. They will start cleaning the second floor beginning tomorrow.
